My Goddess' Twin Wedding

My Goddess' twin, her best friend since JC days, recently got married last Sunday. It was the very first time that my Goddess and the Horny Devil were invited to and attended a Malay wedding, and was certainly an eye-opener for them. My Goddess was also happy to be around the whole process, as she could truly experience and appreciate the Malay culture and traditions.

My Goddess went as early as 8.30am to her Twin's brother house as the mosque and the CC where she held her wedding was just a stone's throw away. My Goddess' mission then was to double check on the MUA to make sure she does a good and not overly dramatic job. Thankfully the MUA didn't let her Twin down. Imagine previously her Twin was so worried about this bridal shop - that they had majority tacky wedding gowns, they can't use her selected material for the MTM gown, and that they had really thick makeup for other brides.

Here's a summary of the event:

First, the bride and groom meets at the mosque for their solemnisation and prayers. The whole process took about an hour.

The ladies need to be all covered up when in the mosque - hence the head ~~scarf~~ shawl

Before I moved on to something more recent and exciting, let me finish covering the last event that has been in the draft folder for some time - My Goddess and the Horny Devil's JPO outing.
It was the second day of CNY then, and my Goddess was pretty bored with the long holidays since her parents were away and there was no visiting too on the Horny Devil's side of family.

So thinking that most people will be busy visiting instead of going into JB to shop, they decided to make their maiden trip to JPO.

They left their house bright and early in the morning at 7.30am. The road into JB was super clear as planned. The bus reached the checkpoint at 8am - faster than her place to Orchard!

Makeup is an art plus magic. The more you practice, the better you get, and the more styles you will experiment. It is magic too because it can hide your flaws and bring out things that you don't have like better complexion, bigger eyes, sharper nose etc. this is why my Goddess likes to doll herself up.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review

Remember in my last post not too long ago, my Goddess complained that her eyeshadow doesn't stay and she wished for a Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer for her birthday? Knowing that no one would actually get for her, she decided to get one for herself.

And the packaging of the primer has changed - it's no longer the stick tube which other users reviewed that they can't get the last bit of the primer out. It's now in tube form, which means you can squeeze every single drop out now! No more wastage, more value-for-money!

As it is supposedly a magic potion, it comes in a cute potion like tube. Even the packaging is in velvet and royal purple.

Wickedly Awesome Christmas

This year, my Goddess didn't spend Christmas with me in Singapore :C She went ahead to have a good time with the Horny Devil in Malacca to attend his ex-colleague wedding.

Wanting to save her remaining pittance leave days to emergency days, they set off only on Sat morning. This only gave them 1 day and 1 night to spend in Malacca since they had to come back Singapore the next day evening to catch the musical Wicked which she has bought the tickets months ago.

The usual 3-hour journey took them 6 hours altogether, thanks to the unnecessary jam at the Tuas customs and uber slow traffic due to the rain.

Their bus reached the hotel only at 3plus and they only had 3 hours to walk around before the dinner.

How to DIY your own Ombre Glitter Nails

This season is all about glitter and shine! And ombre colours are the in thing too.

Inspired, my Goddess bought a pink glitter polish from The Face Shop. It was selling at an affordable price below $10!Instead of painting the nails as per normal, my Goddess decided to diy the ombre effect. It was quite simply done, though slight messy.

To do this, pick 3 colours that are of the same shade.

First, paint the base coat followed by a light polish colour.

Next, use a sponge and dab the top colour from the middle of the nail to the tip of the nail.

Then use the same method to sponge the third (darkest) colour from the base of the nail to the middle.My Goddess redid step 2 again to emphasize the top colour.

Note: your fingers are going to be really messy and dirty with polish sponged out of the nails. Don't worry, just use a cotton bud and dip it in polish remover. Then remove the excessive polish outside of the nails.

Finally finish off with a top coat. Viola, you are ready to party the night away with a trendy nail design!

My Life Begins Today

It's been a really crazy year for my Goddess with loads of ups and downs - getting hitched, switching jobs - worse than the Battlestar Galatica Cyclon ride!Think the only thing that is keeping her sane now is positivity. And this song by Bruno Mars really helped a lot! She's like listening to it a few time every day now to get her daily dose of positivism to keep on going!

NTU Pre-wedding Shoot

I was looking through my blog analytics when I realised that some of the clickthroughs to this blog came from google search, specifically the keywords "NTU Pre-wedding Shoot".Curious about what results it might bring, I decided to do a search on my own.

Viola, it was so surprising that my Goddess' wedding and MV shoot pictures came out tops, courtesy of my blog!

I wonder how do the pictures get ranked? Is it because I have mentioned the word "NTU" and "Pre-wedding Shoot" countless of times here?

Our Very Own Glee-inspired Dance March In

My Goddess always wanted a different kind and impactful march-in. Initially she wanted to do a cheerleading march-in, so that it will go in line with their cheerleading MV. Unfortunately, the Horny Devil and the brothers and sisters protested to it as they were not cheerleaders by training, so it may make the march in look sloppy since cheerleading is all about sharp movements.

So giving in to both their requests and demands halfway, my Goddess and the Horny Devil decided to do a Glee march-in. So the brothers and sisters took two days to practise - one on their meet-up and briefings, and the other on the actual day.

The brothers and sisters were really spontaneous and I could see that they gave in their best, just for my Goddess and the Horny Devil.

It was such a big hit that night. I was told that there were guests saying how special this wedding dinner was and how much they have enjoyed themselves. There were even people doing the pointing action that my Goddess and the Horny Devil did at the part "I think I want to marry you" in the washroom!
Though all of the brothers and sisters weren't performers except for the first pair of couple, who are professional cheerleaders, they did a wonderful job! Kudos to all~

Wedding Tips & Advice: Hairstyles

Ok, it's been a while since I've updated the tips and advice that I have been giving for BTBs. Here's the next one!

Tip #3: Store the pictures, especially of the hair that you really like. Then discuss with your MUA if the styles fit you.

My Goddess spent days ploughing through the sites she recommended previously, and saved every picture of hairstyles that looked nice and a possible hairstyle for her.

Her twin doesn't put on make-up regularly. Even if she does, it's just foundation, concealer and mascara. As you know, putting on makeup is an art that needs a lot of practice and trial and error. When my Goddess heard that she actually spent money on Groupon for a makeup course, she offered to teach her some makeup tips, and do a makeover for her for their friend's wedding.

So after knowing what her twin was going to wear for the night, she began to research on websites a suitable makeup look to go with her dress. After a night of research, she decided on this.

Beautiful memories are meant to be shared! Here's the video put together by Moo Media, covering the beautiful evening event and some highlights of the day. My Goddess never gets tired of watching this video! It warms her heart each time she sees this, knowing that there are so many friends and family members out there who cares for her and the Horny Devil, and were truly happy of their union.

Love the whole editing to the video - the music was matched perfectly to the different cuts, scenes and actions. There were moments of highs and lows, happiness and touching scenes. The emotions at each part of the whole process was captured at the right time. A big thanks to Moo Media's Aaron and Kelvin, and of course Andrew for making this memory everlasting for my Goddess and the Horny Devil.

Been wanting to pen this down for the longest time, but either I'm too busy or too lazy, lol. Well, a few things that happened recently that reminded me again to post these thoughts, somewhat to share with you my Goddess weddings and her hard work and thoughts behind it, and more importantly, to share with people who are reading this out there, some tips and advice on planning a wedding.

A wedding is the most special day in a girl's life.

Ok, maybe not too everyone, but most girls, like 90%? And that excludes pregnancy and giving birth cos that usually comes later.

So with that being said, everyone wants to have a unique and special wedding that represents the couple, and is owned by the couple. So moral of the story? Don't be lazy. Use some of your brain juices. If you don't have much of that, do some work and research. There's so many good resources out there that you can get inspirations from. Friends may be a good source of inspiration, but I would say, go beyond that. I'm sure you do not want to be seen in the same thing by common friends, lest to be called a pirate or a cat?

Engagement Shoot - The Thoughts behind the Shoot

My Goddess spent a lot of time, in fact months researching for the Horny Devil and her wedding, including the engagement shoot, so as to make the wedding as near-perfect to her dream wedding as possible.
Around 2 years before their wedding, my Goddess decided to sign on La Belle Couture. LBC was selected for a few reasons:

1. The gowns are those simple elegant kind that my Goddess is looking for. No over-the-top drama mama please.
2. The photography style and layout is conteporary, lifestyle and casual. No "look into the air and smile" for the both of them, or the heavily photoshopped and dreamy background.
3. Their service is good - friendly but not pushy.
4.And most importantly, the package price is very worth it - just slightly over $3k with AD photography included!

There were a few concepts that the couples did for their shoot. Amongst which, my mostest favouritest is the "Eat rice, do housework concept".

The last time when I wrote about their engagement shoot, I wasn't joking when I said my Goddess dressed up as an Ah Soh with rollers all around her head.

It all started with this modern day fairy tale article that they saw online some time back. It was so hilarious and yet a good portrayal of how life will actually turn out to be.

The Wedding Coffeetable Book

Thanks to Groupon, my Goddess purchased a photobook voucher that she used to make her wedding day coffee table book!

The photobook was very easy to use. You simply need to select the size and general design of the album cover. Then you download a design software which has many templates that you can work on. Otherwise, you can always add in your own design.

The delivery was very prompt! About a week after she submitted her orders, the parcel arrived at her office! Futhermore, the default paper type was out of stock, so they were upgraded automatically to another paper of higher quality.

It came nicely wrapped in a box.

Liese - Good, clean fun!

September is the month where wedding invites start to pour in! But how can Mrs Koo go out to meet the world with her black outgrown hair?

Not wanting to waste money on another expensive colour job, she decided to give Liese a try.
Sold at $19.90, it was the most expensive hair dye on the counters. That's like almost twice the price of the average hair dyes! Despite the high price, she decided to give it a try, since there were some raves on this new Japan hair dye.

After spending some time pondering over the pretty pictures and endless colours, she decided to get the one in Mocha Orange, cos the hair colour looks the nicest on the girl, although the Horny Devil thinks she looks the ugliest, lol~

And so the experiment begins.

See the horrendous ah lian hair - the black and brown so super obviously sticking out?

Kua simi? Kiam pa ah!!

My Goddess has tried to DIY her hair before. But it was never successful. First the hair colours are damn messy, it drips everywhere! Then the ammonia smell is super strong and smelly! And it's really troublesome - you have to make sure each layer of hair gets evenly coloured, and at the same time you can't really touch the roots cos the chemicals isn't good for your scalp, blah blah blah... Most importantly, the colour never gets into her hair! The black roots will still remain black, while the rest of the coloured hair (previously done by the professional) gets even lighter!

But with Liese, the steps are easy as 1-2-3!

Step 1: First, open up #1

Step 2: Mix it with #2 (Note this bottle is first capped with white cap)

Step 3: Then tilt the bottle up and down until the mixture is homogenously mixed.

Step 4: Put on your gloves like a forensic scientist

Step 5: Replace the white cap with red cap

Step 6 (not shown in picture cos the gloves are on and no risking of chances to dirty the camera!): press the container from the centre to create foams.

Step 7: Start lathering up your hair with loads of foam!

Then, wait 30 minutes...

While waiting, my Goddess decided to take her bread dinner. And I'm in for a treat!

Yummy, gimme more!

Step 9: Give your hair a nice rinse, shampoo, condition, then towel dry before moistuirising your hair with the lotion given.

And viola~ see the black roots are all gone and the whole head is evenly coloured!

That is why I say Liese is so clean and amazing! Best of all, it smells pretty nice! As nice as Loreal's latest ammonia-free dyes.

And now my Goddess is ready to attend all the weddings prettily as Mrs Koo!

Time just flies doesn't it? It's one month since my Goddess and the Horny Devil tied the knot!

One weekend before my Goddess' wedding was a darn packed weekend. It's after all the last weekend before the wedding!

First on Sat, my Goddess and the Horny Devil went for facial in the afternoon. This was followed by my Goddess' bachelorette party @ Raffles Town Club.

And the next morning, all of them looked puffy and shagged.

After which, my Goddess rushed home in the morning at 10am to prepare for 过大礼, a Chinese tradition to officially ask for the bride's hands.

Gifts were meant to be exchanged and dowry prepared during this time.

After which it was time to 安床, a tradition that requires the putting of new bedsheet sets for the couple's bed, and getting a boy to roll on the bed. This supposedly blesses the couple to have good fortune and will give birth to a baby boy soon!

The boy have to first 'break' the red paper wrapping the spittoon to get the red packet and sweets inside the spittoon. By right he's also supposed to pee in that spittoon but (1) he would be to shy to do that and (2) no one's going to wash it man!

Jayden, my Goddess' nephew was supposed to roll on the bed. But he was simply too shy and clueless. So he just laid there like a log.

There were yummy lotus seeds, longans, red dates,
rock sugar candy and peanut candy - all the sweet stuff for

And finally all the traditions are accomplished!

And because the newly made bed is not supposed to be slept on until the wedding night, and my Goddess original bed was shifted away to make way for their new bed, she had to sleep on a narrow strip of walkway in her room!

I heart Genefique!

Ever since my Goddess got her hands on her first sample bottle of Genifique, she hasn't stopped using it ever since. It's like better than miracle water! After a few weeks, the fine lines on her face disappeared. Powered with her Laneige moisturiser and Fancl Tense Up Ex, her skin became more plump, clearer and radiant!

Even her colleague and the Horny could see the difference! She didn't need much makeup and could still look fresh and radiant, even with those late nights!

She even introduced Genifique to the Horny Devil and now he's a fan of it too! His lines were also less visible, his skin smoother and more radiant. What a miracle just in time for the both of them for their big day!

And so when my Goddess saw on Lancome fanpage that they are looking for ambassadors for Genifique, and the 3 selected will get to win a year's supply of Genifique, she signed up for it immediately! What better way to show her love for Genifique by saying good things about it and then win more Genifique?

And sign up she did. And to her pleasant surprise, my Goddess was selected to take part in the shoot! Thankfully everything worked well for her. The shoot was initially scheduled in the day time on the last day of my Goddess' work! And of course she couldn't take leave and almost couldn't be part of the shoot.

But the SPH and Lancome team was nice enough to postpone the shoot till after work. And so yay for my Goddess!

And so the shoot went on rather smoothly. My Goddess loved the makeup done on her! And I love it too! Think the whole makeup was rather natural even with the slightly thicker eye makeup. That's the kind of eye makeup my Goddess has been trying to achieve!

With the help of makeup, my Goddess' eyes looks much bigger, and her face slimmer. woohoo~

Married Life

A couple of people have asked my Goddess how's married life, and so she's sharing her response here.

Generally, it's not much different from being single. Things are going on more or less as usual.

But guess my Goddess is feeling less of the impact since they are staying at her place currently. Once she needs to pay her own bills, clean the house and wash her own clothes, things will be more different.

Something different now is that she now has to plan her schedule more or less to his. No more going to gym at least 3 times a week or going home alone early. So now they ended up sleeping later after going back from dinner at the in-laws.

And now, she has to regularly remind herself that she's a married woman so must be more accommodating to him and plan things taking into consideration of them as a couple and not separate individuals.

Think for him, the major inconvenience is travelling to work. There's no mrt around her place so he has to take buses to work, and it takes him at least an hour and half to work. Plus he's not used to having the bathroom so far away from the bedroom and now he's beginning to understand why my Goddess sometimes feel lazy to bathe. And they have yet to sort out their laundry yet, so her mom is still washing her clothes :p and he intends to bring home his for his mom to wash.

Furthermore, the 2 of them have peculiarly different habits. He's often feeling warm and needs the aircon cold she's afraid of the cold. She needs to have the tv on in the morning to wake herself up but he needs peace and quiet in the morning. And despite them being a messy and lazy couple, he's more messy than her and even she cannot stand it herself and have to pick up after him.

Think the happiest person in the house is me. Whenever they come home, I will jump and bark and growl like mad. I will follow them upstairs to check out what they are doing. It's great fun to have one more person playing with me!

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Time flies, the day that my Goddess and the Horny Devil spent 1.5 years planning is now over. And they finished not just one, but 2 wedding dinners already.

Yes, I know there's so much bad log to catch up on, especially on her wedding day and dinners.

Not to worry, I will try to update it one by one, from the preps all the way to the actual day, over the course of a few ~~weeks~~ months.

Anyway, today is the first day that the 2 of them got to spend time together officially as man and wife, without having any wedding plans in mind.

And so they went to catch Kungfu Panda. It has been weeks since the 2 of them caught a movie cos for 2-3 months, every weekend was spent on wedding preps.

Surprisingly, the queue was very long given that it was Monday afternoon at 1pm!

The show was hilarious. It's a must-watch! And luckily for my Goddess, she had some Shaw vouchers left from her intern days, which was like so long ago, but it still could be used. However, the minus points were that the popcorn at Shaw Lido was laohong, and the headrest for the seats were a little too high so it blocked the view of not so tall people like my Goddess.

After the show, my Goddess decided to visit her fave salon - Salon Vim and her fave stylist - Gary. For the longest time, she has been harbouring the thoughts of snipping her hair short after the wedding. Now the time has come, and she was still very hesitant while waiting for Gary to come. It after all took her 3 years to grow her hair this long.

Eventually, she mustered the courage and was ready to embrace more changes in her life with a new look, and so cut she did.

And now her hair is uber short. My Goddess ain't regretting her new look as it makes her look much younger and lighter. Think she could have even lost 1kg from the super heavy, thick hair.

Hopefully, you all think that this major risk is worth it too~

Wedding Preps - Cert collection

My Goddess utilised half of her precious leave days to collect the ROM cert yesterday morning.

End up things weren't going on very smoothly, probably cos it's Friday the 13th.

First, the Horny Devil went out of the house halfway and realised he forgot to bring his father's IC. So he has to go home and take and grab a cab down. And the cake doesn't have small change for his $50 note!

Then, there was some minor cock-ups in office, and my Goddess keep receiving calls and was even asked to go back early!! (Note that this is already half of her VERY PRECIOUS 3 days)

Anyway, life has to go on. So they waited for their turn, said their oaths and then had a brief meet-up with their actual day photographer to discuss the programme.

All ready to get married!

Then it was lunch at a yummy horfun place at Maxwell Chambers!

There's only 3 wks left to my Goddess' wedding and I'm feeling all jittery for her!

There's still bits and pieces of stuff undone and they really need to go full steam now!

They just finished their voice-over for the pre-wedding video, my Goddess dunno what to make of it and hopes that people will understand the story.

Childhood montage is 70% complete. An chuang and guo da Li stuffs still have items in bits and pieces not bought. What else, songs compilation, finalisation of actual day programme and helpers roles. Hopefully there's time in between to do some DIY decor for the reception.

Scary, all the months of planning coming together in just one day - very soon!

Weddings are not for the poor

Planning for her own wedding has made my Goddess realise that weddings (she's referring to the conventional and traditional types with the take bridal shots, 过大礼，嫁妆，安床，接新娘 followed by banquet dinner at a good hotel and ending off with a honeymoon) are not meant for those who are poor.

With inflation, prices of everything is rising. Hotels are increasing their rates at an average of $50 per table per year, some even more. My Goddess booked her hotel in end 2009. Now bookings for the same place has increased to about $400 more per table. Of course a lot of things are thrown in the package to make the deal worth it - tie ups with invite card designer, live band, better menu, hagen daaz ice cream etc. But are all these really needed? I'd rather do without these and get a cheaper rate.

Prices of gold are increasing like mad if you intend to follow the customs of 嫁妆 and 四点金.

Not to mention the ridiculously sky high property prices that you'll spend the rest of your life paying off the loan of.

So unless:
1. You are born in a rich family
2. You will be married into a rich family
3. You stay at your in-laws place after marriage
4. You skip all the traditions and customs and just have a ROM

Then you won't be able to have the typical wedding that costs at least $30k, and now even more, with the price hikes.

So for those who are thinking of getting married, start locking in the prices before they start rising further and good luck!

Busy wedding prep weekend

This weekend, or rather, these 2 weekends have been super duper busy for my Goddess and the Horny Devil.

With only 6 weeks left, they still had a few things not completed for their wedding. So it's pia time for them!!

To start the weekend of madness on a good note, they had a good brunch at Cedele!

Then it was mattress shopping time!!

They went from Taka to Courts to Robinsons, for a total of 5 hours, testing tens of beds.

After that they headed to Chinatown Smith Street to check out Guo Da Li stuffs. After which, it was off the Simmons dealers' outlet at Kaki Bukit at 7pm to check out their Simmons sale. They really sell a lot of traditional wedding items! Next time they go over, my Goddess will take some pictures for you to see how extensive they are.

The next day, they were off to JB with the Horny Devil's father.

As usual, good food to start off the day!

Then it was to City Square to collect their wedding invites inserts.

The father then brought them to take a look at Coupe de Marriage, a shop much talked about in SG forums.

They really do sell a lot of things, and at a cheaper price!

Then it was more bed hunting in both JB and Centerpoint.

As it was the last day of the Robinsons sale, the Horny Devil couldn't make up his mine on which to get.

So halfway through, as they had appointment with the BS to collect their album and frame, and to select her bouquet flower.

They headed back to Robinsons with 2 albums and 1 big frame after that. And after the 2 days of agony, they decided to put a deposit, only to realise it's refundable!

After all that hassle, dinner was finally taken at 11pm!!

Food Tasting

On Tuesday, 15 March, my Goddess, the Horny Devil and the 2 families went for food tasting at Min Jiang restaurant. At first they thought this could be a treat to celebrate the end of their pre-wedding video shoot. But unfortunately that was not done then.

Anyway, the food was really good, and the portion big! Love the cold dish appetiser. The duck was yummy, but the jellyfish was a bit bland. Not very keen in the kungpao prawns and kungpao scallops too since not fresh prawns was used. But oh well, since the FIL likes them she has no choice. She also loved the soup even though it wasn't shark fins. Again, the FIL thinks the presentation not grand enough...

By the time they got to the lotus rice, she only had like 2 mouths as it was like REALLY filling, though the rice was good. Haagen daaz ice-cream was served for them to try. But no way are they going to pay an extra $88+++ per table for it. First, the guests will be too full to appreciate it. Two, no one will pay an additional $10 in angpow for this. To get them to pay $100 per person is already a big mystery which my Goddess doubt especially the relatives will give.

K la, for the food, since my Goddess won't get to each for the night, she will leave the FIL to decide. If he happy, then the guests should also be happy.

Pre-wedding shoot

As the Horny Devil loves my Goddess too much, and want to give her as much as possible, her dream wedding as possible, he agreed to fork up a sum of money to engage Moo Media to shoot their pre-wedding video.

Much to his displeasure on doing something that is totally not him - he's a runner, not a cheerleader, and some more we have to mobilise all our brothers and sisters for 1 day of training (it was initially 3 but cut down to 1) and a full day of shoot, which he felt super paiseh about it.

Oh well, the money has been paid, and that is the fact about how they have met, so the shoot must go on.

And so bright and early on Sat 12 Mar, the whole jing gang met at Orchard at 8am for a 8.30am shoot.

Unfortunately, my Goddess was so busy trying to finish the shoot that she didn't have time to capture a lot of shots, especially the last time the two of them will be doing a chair stunt together.

Save the Date

My Goddess was very much inspired by the US style of getting their guests to save the dates. She found some cute 'save the date' cards like this

However, after seeing this video, she thought a video may be more unique and interesting.

And so try she did to make her own Save the Date video. And it turned out more tedious than she thought it would be. Making a video involved taking pictures of each frame by frame, and then piecing them together. And before that, the pictures were not perfect, and she had to touch them up one by one! And so it took a total of approximately 3 weeks of consecutive late nights to complete the whole dang video.

Of course it didn't look as the one posted here, but what the hell, it's my Goddess first attempt to make an animation video, you all better say it's nice. Anyway, won't be putting it up so soon until her wedding date is nearing, as this is specially meant for her invited friends to see.

After a long break, I'm back! The long silence was cos my Goddess was so busy for the past few months! First there was annual report to rush, and Paper Polly to manage, and then there's also wedding to prepare.. It's so tough for my poor Goddess now.

Since a month ago, every weekend is wedding preparations weekend for my Goddess and the Horny Devil.

Last Sunday, my Goddess and the HD went down to City Square to do some wedding prep shopping.

After braving through the incorrigible jam, they reached at 2pm and went to "客人来" for lunch.

Nice noodles but super salty egg and taopok!

Then it was dessert time at Baskin Robbins!

This was followed by hours of shopping and searching - for the HD's shirt, vest, their props etc.

Catching a wink of sleep

Initially they wanted to go out for some cheap and good food one. But they ended up shopping till very late - 8pm and it seems too late and dangerous to head out. So they ended up settling their dinner in City Square too.

When they finally left JB, it was like 10pm already. Luckily for my Goddess, her home wasn't too far away from there, and so she reached home in 30 minutes time!

And the trip was really fruitful cos they bought a vest for HD, some props for their shoot and most importantly cheap contact lenses that are less than half the price in Singapore, and these lenses are meant to enhance their eyes too! Hee~

This weekend, it's gown fitting and make-up trial time!

My Goddess Wedding Diary

Some people have been asking me to put up pictures of the gown selection that my Goddess recently went for. So here it is:

My Goddess and the Horny Devil went for their gowns and suit selection on Sun 7 Nov. They thought they already took along time - 5 hours in total! But actually the average time is 6 hours.

But the two of them were like super zonked out at the end of it all.

Don't know why cannot take picture openly. First, the gowns would have been taken pictures of when wedding couples take photos and post them up. And if competitors really want to copy, they would have sent spies down.

Anyway, here are some secretly taken shots of the gowns she tried on, but didn't select.

Two weeks after the gowns were selected, they also bought their wedding shoes.

My Goddess couldn't decide whether to get pink or silver shoes, and almost went to custom-make one silver pair like that in the picture!

Turns out the silver one is some expensive US brand 'Christian-dunno-what', maybe Louboutin that costs USD200!!

In the end, she found an almost same pair of pink shoes, if not funkier ones one day! And furthermore, it's like below SGD100, and can be worn out in future.

Tada! K, the pictures are not very clear here cos my Goddess' hp ran out of batt that day and couldn't take pics with flash. Love the Horny Devil's shoes - shiny and pristine. And it costs more than my Goddess shoes ok?

Happy Birthday Paper Polly (Part 1)

Paper Polly is turning one soon on 18 November! Time flies. It was a year and slightly more back that Aim, my Goddess bestest Thai friend asked her over MSN one day whether Singaporeans shop online and where do they go to shop, so that she can sell clothes from Thailand here.

Then my Goddess thought it was a good idea for them to collaborate. Since Aim has the stocks, and my Goddess the language, the local market understanding and expertise (limited though, in photoshop and programming/blogs :p).

And so their collaboration started. First with really sweet and young dresses, and collections named after fairytale themes.

Then they turned to styles that were modern and stylish, and imported clothes from other countries like HK and Vietnam.

When flower prints, denim and playsuits, jumpsuits were in. These were brought in these designs too for their shoppers' fashion craves.

They also moved on to bring in plain and simple style dresses, blouses and pants that were suitable for work and more formal occasions. Clothes were also sourced from more countries now - Taiwan, Korea, China!

And not to forget, sexy barebacks and chic evening dresses for clubbing and pubbing, or that upcoming friend's dinner.

And there's also more casual maxis and minis, for the beaches and to hit town for the girl-bonding window shopping.

Their cover page has also evolved to feature a more stylish and clean look - inspired by ASOS and Forever 21.

So as you can see, through the one year, my Goddess and her bestie is trying their best to improve Paper Polly's offerings (we hope you feel that we have improved over the year too!), and to bring in a wide range of styles that will suit any occasions and all budgets - as all their items are all below $30!!

Can't stand people who dress up sexily for Halloween - it's supposed to be a scary/horror dress-up, not a chance for you to wear skimpily.

Anyway, my Goddess and the Horny Devil went to the Night Safari's Halloween special. This is their first Halloween visit even though it has been around for a long time. The experience was quite fun as the ghosts were really very nicely made up.

To make things more fun, and also to do crazy things before they get married and old, the two of them played dress-up too - my Goddess has a ghost girl and the Horny Devil 如花, the ugly Chinese woman.

He was supposed to dress up as Edward Scissorshand, but in the end he was inspired by a You Tube 'How to dress up like an Ugly Bitch' video.

The most exciting part of the event was the 'Gui' Mansion, otherwise known as the Ghost Mansion. It's a new extension to Night Safari - where they built a ghost house from a tent. Amazing~

But too bad they queued like an hour plus for a 5 minute walk. And it would be more exciting if there were tasks for the visitors to do/ story behind the house - so it becomes more like halls' fright night.

My Goddess and the Horny Devil had a healthy and spiritual weekend as they signed up for the Yoga by the Sea mass workout session.

It started out fun and happy until 5 minutes before the start of the event. Three morons refused to walk to the other side of the tent but chose to squeeze in the what little space there is in front and beside us.

Can you see how close the mats were? Especially to the right of my Goddess, there was hardly any space and their hands will surely hit each other when they move around.

Feeling uncomfortable with the close proximity, my Goddess asked the girl beside her if she can move in front. The girl was still ok to shift. Well, she ought to since they came in and invaded their space!

But when she shifted in front, her bitch friend stared back at us and think we bullied her friend! She was like telling her that the space doesn't belong to us and she don't have to shift up.

TMD, this was in face the best arrangement wad, bitches! You three morons can be side by side, and at the same time, we are not sticking to each other side by side.

Dunno what these morons are thinking (doubt they are at all), invaded to others' space since my Goddess and the Horny Devil came much earlier and still want to bitch so much. Pui~

6.5 Months More!

I know I haven't been updating the blog for the longest time. Ever since my Goddess came back from her Taiwan trip, she's been really occupied with work, gym and Paper Polly, and in between a Halloween trip to the Night Safari. She uses the comp to 1am every night, I don't even have any chance to go near the computer!

Anyway, time flies, it's 6.5 months more to my Goddess' big day. So it's time to rev up on the preparations again. This means on top of work, gym and Paper Polly, she'll spend more time researching online for wedding ideas.

I promise I'll try to update on her Taiwan and Halloween trip, as well as her wedding plans as soon/much as I can!

So I was saying, wedding prep is gearing up for full steam. Wedding photography date has been set, gown selection date fixed, and trial makeup date settled. So far, things seem to be on track and it has been fun (let's hope it remains this way).

She has been diligently eating her expensive honey from Taiwan everyday, and going to the gym regularly. Just bought a cellulite buster cream - hope that works for her; Looking for bust enhancing cream, any recommendations? And hair mask and eye mask affairs are going to happen every alternate day, face masks twice a week. Hope she'll look radiantly healthy by the day of her photoshoot. Wish her luck~

Anyway, new collection has been launched. All items have been hand-picked by my Goddess from her Taiwan trip, which also means 1 piece per item only. So leave your orders now before someone else does!

It's been a week since they've left. It's been a long time since we had full freedom and privacy in our own house, more than one year in fact. The house is clean and quiet once more!

Chunky Chunk Fest

My Goddess had an exciting weekend just this week.

First on Saturday, she and her bff, Chewy went to have a free hair makeover, with compliments from Her World and Redken!

Okay, perhaps it wasn't totally complimentary. My Goddess had to take a cab down to the venue cos she was late. And the reason? She wanted to take the train via Bukit Batok then Jurong East and onto the East bound train. My Goddess hardly takes the train, and just this day that she decides to take the train, the MRT interchange at Jurong East just has to be under construction (!) And so she had to spend another 20 minutes on the shuttle bus from Jurong East to Clementi. By then she knew she will be late, and so took a cab down which costs her $16!! So actually the hair makeover actually is not free, but costs $16 :(

In a rush, my Goddess also didn't have much chance to take the before and after pics. I guess you should already know her messy before pic already anyway.

After which, my Goddess, her bff and the Horny Devil headed down to Ben & Jerry's Chunkfest! My Goddess has always wanted to go down to the event each year but didn't do so in the end. This year, she finally made it! Unfortunately, there wasn't any free ice-cream giveaways. Only Moolah dollars for you to redeem B&J's goodies.

The event was really colourful and fun, and they had a good time taking crazy pics.

They bought 3 scoops of ice-cream to share - some maple flavour one, one is peacon and the last vanilla health bar.

The ice-cream was fantastic, the setup was great. There were mats laid all over for people to sit around and enjoy the band performances. The bands weren't great unfortunately, but the ice-creams, great photo ops and fabulous company made up for it.

And yes, they love ice-cream and so do I!

Then on Sunday, my Goddess and the Horny Devil went for a marriage preparation seminar organised by SPH and MarriageCentral. Although topics covered were things that were already known, it surfaced the topics to the top of mind and there were some form of self-actualization in some ways.

For example, listening before talking, never use divorce in your arguments, respecting the difference between men and women, budgeting your finances, coming together to decide the spending ceiling to consult each other etc.

But some interesting things that were brought to light to my Goddess were, M actually decreases pleasure of S because the grip and hence sensual pleasure is different. And lubricants kill sperms, so if you are trying to conceive, do not use them.

The participants were also given a very useful guidebook which have several chapters covering the different areas of contention you will encounter with your spouse. There are what to do and not to dos, and pages of which you pledge your commitment in certain areas to each other.

Some good points include:

Marriage only works when you don't expect the moon and stars to shine brightly all the time. Unnecessary expectations put unnecessarily strain on r/s.
If you marry a sunflower, don't expect it to smell like a rose. Trying to change your spouse to suit you will only end up in great despair and frustration.
Don't be frustrated if your spouse doesn't respond in the same way as you. Remember that his or her uniqueness is what attracted you in the first place.

These are really relevant and true points which we neglect all the time. Guess my Goddess will keep the guidebook with her, read it on and off, so as to keep the marriage (to-be) going. Along the way, if she reads some interesting points and have time to share with me, I will share them with you too.

And when the Bands go Marching in!!

Last Saturday on 28 August, my Goddess and the Horny Devil finally collected their wedding bands!

In the end, they stuck to engraving the words "De corde totaliter, Et ex mente tota", each phrase on each band. It is actually a latin word meaning - with all my heart and all my soul. This serves as a little reminder to the both of them they have to love each other truly, no matter what happens, for better or for worse.

Wanted to take a super zoom in shot of the ring, but they still haven't mastered how to use the new cam.

In the evening, they met up with their friends for dinner at Tambuah Mas. My Goddess was extremely full from the dinner which had curry fish head, satay, sambal kangkong, Tahu Telor and ice chendol for dessert..slurps~

Too bad my greedy Goddess was busy eating to take pictures of the food.

After dinner, they headed to Prime Society at Dempsey for some Tiger Beer milkshake.

The milkshake tasted really good. Once you first drink it, it's just taste of sweetness of milk. But after you drink it down, the taste of Tiger beer comes out strongly.

But my Goddess and the Horny Devil were too full to drink a glass of milkshake, so they had something else instead.

That day was a really good day for my Goddess.. She thoroughly enjoyed herself. Can't wait for the coming weekend to arrive, as she has some exciting plans in store. Do stay tune to find out more!

Things Happen When You Least Expect It

My Goddess has been trying to lose weight for a few months by running rigourously and eating less carbo, more vege, not eating after 8 etc but was unsuccessful. So she kinda gave up, started to eat more fast food, exercise 1 day less per week and ate after 10. And guess what she lost 2kg!

Sometimes you just can't have any expectations lest you become disappointed. You'll feel much happier when you do things without expecting much returns so that in the end you can be pleasantly surprised!

First Atas Charity Dinner

One of the charity clubs that my Goddess' company donates too had a Charity Dinner on Thusday night. It was held at the ever-so-grand Shangri-la Hotel Ballroom. This was the first time my Goddess and the Horny Devil went there for a meal.

The ballroom was indeed very grand with its chandelier lights and detailed carvings on the ceiling.

The food was good too! With an 8-course Chinese dinner meal, they were really full at the end of the meal.

Banana Muffin, Wedding Prep and JC girls meet-up

And true to what my Goddess said in her last post that she's going to try the banana muffin and try the next day she did!

The banana muffin was really good! There were even chunks of banana inside the muffin itself.

Anyway, my Goddess is loving her and the Horny Devil's new camera, and so am I! The quality of the pictures are just superb!

On 21 Aug, my Goddess and the Horny Devil did their wedding prep again, this time in search of bridesmaid dress tailor at Far East Plaza.

In the evening, it was a meet-up with her JC girlfriends to celebrate Lover's birthday and have a catch-up with everyone.

During the meet-up they talked about how one of the college mates one of them met recently was pretty good looking during JC days, but now, unfortunately looked much older and worse than their age. And so they were all so relieved that they still looked the same, in fact, better than before. Don't you agree?

Just last week, my Goddess saw an a post by GoodStuph on Facebook - Muffins for Bloggers!

Being the auntie Ching she is, she decided since she blogs, and it doesn't matter the readership figures as long as the blogger blogs, why not try the muffins? Anyway the only thing she needs to register with GoodStuph. Besides the muffins looked really yummy on the website!!

The one with the red cherry looks especially good! And submitted the entry she did.

And just last Wednesday, she went to pick up her free muffins from Muffinman! What a cute name.

The store was really bright and cheery too.. makes you feel like buying more muffins!

There were like 101 flavours to choose from. My Goddess couldn't make up her mind. So in the end she got a Lemon Raspberry, a Mango Custard, one Triple Chocolate and one Rum & Raisin.

The next morn, my Goddess took one of the muffins to work for breakfast.

And it was really good! Normally, my Goddess is not a big fan of muffins as they can get really 'gelard'. But the muffin from MuffinMan was light, not oily at all. There were bits of creamy cheese/rum within the muffin. Can you see it?

Okay, maybe her hp cam isn't so good to capture the 'wetness' of the muffins, so here's pointing out to you where it is.

And my Goddess finished up the whole muffin, wanting for more!

Unfortunately my Goddess didn't have the chance to try the Chef's recommendation - Triple Chocolate. The Mango Custard was so-so to her, probably cos it was like 2 days later then she consumed that muffin, so the custard was not oozing out of the muffin like in the picture.

The lemon raspberry was cute to eat cos of the bright red hearts and yellow cream. But she still loved the Rum & Raisin one the best!

There are so many other flavours that my Goddess would love to try:

National Day, Before and After

My Goddess went for dinner with the Horny Devil and their friends at one of Chinatown's market. It's the one at Smith Street with the famous Claypot Chicken Rice and Fish Head Bee Hoon one.

Saw they sat at a table and ate the Claypot Rice and some Salted Bean Fish. After they finished their food, they started discussing on a very boliao topic based on this.

My Goddess said this is meant for the umbrellas so they won't slide off the table or take up one seat. The Horny Devil insisted that there were other uses...

On the eve of National Day, my Goddess and the Horny Devil woke up really early in the morning and travelled down to Mount Faber at 9am.

And guess why they were so excited?

Jewel in the Box was giving away free cable ride tickets (450 in total) in celebration of National Day and they managed to get there in time to get a pair!

And they realised this also means a free entry into Sentosa!

It has been a long time since my Goddess rode on the Singapore's cable car.

Upon reaching Sentosa, they realised they were not prepared and there was nothing much to do (?!)

They decided to walk around to look for a place to eat breakfast. Along the way, they found a cute poster.

This is the skydive simulator which is still under construction. The doggie looks really stylo and happy doesn't he?

After walking around for an hour, they found that there was nothing much to eat at Sentosa. There were a lot of Coffee Bean outlets there, a Subway and Delifrance store, but not very breakfast-sy.

And so they took the cable car back, tired, hot and hungry.

And had breakfast at Harbour Front's Macs then. Duh~

After breakfast, they took the train down to the Expo to visit the Harvey Norman Sale as my Goddess has been wanting to get a better camera for Paper Polly for a while already so that the pics can look better, and hopefully this can boost sales.

And a more pro camera they bought. Damn ex lo!! Paper Polly better show some results to make this worth it.

And this camera is very special. It can sing!! Do you know why?

Because there's (Sean) Kingston in it! Geddit? You are my beautiful girl...

And the week after, they played around with the camera, auto-mode first, cos they haven't mastered how to use the manual mode.

A Million Reasons why I Want to See You Gone, NOW

2. You prop your legs at the living room table like you are the owner of the house.

3. You sleep on the living room couch like this' your home.

4. You walk around the garden barefooted and back into the house, and insist it's clean. Why don't you sleep at the garden then?

5. You leave the gate open and house door unlock.

6. You dig your nose in the living room and throw your shit around.

7. You don't flush after using the toilet.

8. You don't like to bathe and hardly change your clothes and stink up the whole house.

9. You think this is your own house, and so climbed upstairs and go into my room without knocking on the door!

10. You speak so loudly and even raised your voice at the owners of the house that I can hear your rubbish from the third floor.

11. You like to meddle with other people's things, picking up and touching them.

12. You flip the papers English and Chinese and makes a mess out of it even though you are illiterate!

13. You wait for your turn to shower topless so your dirty sweaty back is on the couch.

14. You pick up other people's handphone and answers it!!

15. You don't clean up after your meals, and would have even left them in the living room if you weren't nagged at.

And the list is non exhaustive. You are just an obnoxious shit.

Weekend Randomness

Before the weekend started, my Goddess' office laptop kena virus attack because she was surfing through some blogger's site (no, she's not eating cockroach 'jia zhua' but doing some bloggers review for your work). Anyway an internet window with the exact look and feel as a windows screen popup and warned her that she needs to scan through her comp as virus was found. In a hurry, she click, yes, proceed, only to realise it's actually a scam. And so the virus was downloaded onto her comp. And the worst thing is, the virus is damn irritating. It keeps popping up a window prompting my Goddess to download some antivirus software - so ironic.

And so she contacted the IT helpdesk and had her laptop sent for fixing. In the meanwhile, she was issued a lapbook. It was so small, light and sleek! Tempted my Goddess to get a lapbook for a while.

Before the weekend, my Goddess also received a card from the company.

On Friday evening, my Goddess met her fellow CY to catch up on her trip to US. They had dunner at Waruky and my Goddess ordered a medium sized Udon.

Anyway, both my Goddess and I are happy for her that she's found her 如意郎君.

And just yesterday, my Goddess decided to give Koi a try again, and ordered their signature drink - bubble milk tea. This time she ordered for 100% sweet in case it turns out not sweet like the last time. And indeed it was very sweet!

It was supposed to be today. The day that my Goddess and I were waiting was supposed to be today. But the day never came. We will have to wait another month. And I am doubting if that month will again turn into many more months. Just like what we were told a year ago that it will only be a month, just bear with it.

So we waited. One month turned into a few months. And we waited. A few months soon became a year. And we waited.

And the day hasn't come.

Boring Long Weekend

This weekend was supposed to be exciting for my Goddess. Her family wanted to go Bkk for a short getaway.

Unfortunately the flights were mostly booked and they had to postpone the idea.

So they tweaked their holiday getaway to a 3day Malaysia Cameron Highlands trip. But the car was used and they had to go rent a car instead.

Then comes an even worse news - three walkers at the cafe refused to work on Sunday. So my Goddess' parents had to go back to work on Sunday, which means no more stayover trip.

And the ultimatum - cars cannot be rented for 1 day only. And so the parents will take public transport over. Why must life be so 狼狈 for them? Live in big house, own 2 businesses and 3 vehicles but have to take bus and queue the super long holiday queue with everyone else?

No more holiday for my Goddess and the Horny Devil is mad at her. What a great start to the long weekend!!

Random Ramblings

The reason why I'm so free to write a post is because my Goddess is no longer hogging the computer do to her Paper Polly stuff now that he latest collection is out and she can take a mini-break from all the photoshopping!

Back to the main topic "random ramblings".

My Goddess is an adventurer when it comes to food. She likes to try new food, and especially fast food. That's cos it's easier to keep track of the new menu, and doesn't cost her a bomb to try.

And so she had the spicy mcnuggets.

Her take on this? 2 out of 5. It tasted like those otah fishball kind. Spicy, but not tasty. And as for the Honey Chipotle, it wasn't anything fanciful too. A disappointment in fact. To think that McDonald is so cunning to make you upsize so that you can try their shaker fries!?

Moving on to something more tasty and exciting. Bibimbak from Harbour Front Food Junction!

This is authentic Korean food! Look at the 'liao' - so generous and juicy! Every bite you take is the 'liao', cannot taste the rice at all. Even the rice is those sushi kind of rice! The reason why it's 4 out of 5 is cos my Goddess kena LS straight after this meal cos the egg was too raw for her stomache. Good stuff, cannot bluff~

Just a few days ago, my Goddess wanted to reward herself and bought herself Koi, the bubble tea that she long wanted to try but never had the chance to as the queue is like forever very long.

And so queue up she did, at TPY Central. Luckily, it wasn't as long as expected - about 10 minutes?

Koi is really making big business. 689 customers and counting at 8pm in just one outlet!

My Goddess bought the Green tea with pearls, 90% sugar. The pearls were small and chewy but my Goddess wished they were bigger so it's nicer to chew. Even though it's 90% sugar, she didn't find it sweet at all. So guess the 0% sugar will be totally bland? My Goddess couldn't see what the hype was about. Maybe she didn't get the signature milk tea with bubbles that's why.

Finally, have you heard of a pack of chips that costs $5.50? That's the cost of a meal!

Again, my Goddess wanted to reward herself for being so disciplined with food and gym (so ironic right) that she decided to get herself a bag of chips. She was deciding between this pack and the tube of Pringles (mozzarella cheese flavour) which costs $2 plus. Thinking that this costs only $1.75, she decided to get this. But when she was at the cashier and was asked for $5.50, she got a shock! But there was another man in front of her who haven't left yet. So feeling paiseh, she decided to pay for it. She could have changed it for some other chips if no one was around!

You must be thinking that this is good stuff right, since it costs so much. But alas no! It's one of the lousiest chips my Goddess has eaten. It's totally hard, and very salty!

And what's up with the 'All Natural' text man? You mean we've been eating fake potatoes all along? Or this chip is naturally made with a woman peeling and frying each and every piece? Come on, chips are already not healthy snacks. Are you trying to make the consumer feel better by getting to consume 'natural' chips.

So much for marketing, packaging and hence the jack up in costs.

Time not enough

Time has been flying really quickly for my Goddess these few months. Before she knows it, the one work week is gone and weekend has finally arrived (yeah!). Then, within the wink of an eye, the weekend is gone, and it's the start of another work week (boo!).

And so my Goddess decided to investigate how did a day just pass so quickly, and so she did a breakdown of her time.

As you can see, she spends the most of her time at work - 9.5 hours (minimum) and sometimes even longer. It's 3 hours more than her sleep time. So disgusting right?

The next most disgusting fact that she has discovered is that she spends 2 hours travelling a day! That's time same amount of time she spends to bathe/prepare for work like putting on makeup etc.

This leaves her only less than 3 hours a day to spend on her business Paper Polly (how can she find time to improve her business since most of the time it's spent on answering to shoppers' emails/updating the new collection), and leaves her no time to prepare for her wedding and self-improvement.

Luckily for her, most of her wedding preparations is done. It's left with the minor details which unfortunately also needs time for research and coordination.

It's been a long time since my Goddess read a book. So in order to squeeze in some time for this, she's lugging a book with her in a bag these days, so that she can read while she's travelling. At least the 2 hours will not be wasted. However, that also doesn't mean that the whole of 2 hours is spent on reading. My Goddess gets car sick easily when she reads on the road. So the only time she can read is when she's travelling from work to the gym on the train.

Sigh, 24hours is not sufficient for my Goddess. She needs another 2 more hours for herself/Paper Polly, and especially for me!

My Goddess' Wedding Diary

Today my Goddess and the Horny Devil continued on their wedding preparations and did a few errands.

First, they went to the Regent-Labelle wedding show to take a look at Labelle's new collection. Most of the gowns this collection were not what she was looking for. She only like 1-2 pieces, but these were not her 'Wa, I must take this!!!' gowns. Didn't take any pictures of the gowns/ the event as no photography was allowed.

Then, they headed down to Love & Co. to collect their wedding bands.

They wanted to engrave texts onto their rings, but weren't prepared on what to engrave. So they ended up spending time surfing the net on their phones, in the search of the perfect words to engrave.

My Goddess quite like the quote "Amor Vincit Om" which means "Love conquers all", but the Horny Devil thinks that's quite cliche. He liked "Nonrefundable since 220511" but it was more than their maximum number of characters of 20. But in the end they settled for a sentence in a love poem, "De Corde totaliter" for him and "Et ex mente tota" for her*. It simply means "With all my heart and all my soul".

Then they headed to Dress Me Up, a bridesmaid dress shop to check out their dresses. The dresses were sweet and the prices still pretty affordable. But the range of clothes available for selection are so limited, and typical. There was no apple green, the colour that my Goddess was looking for.

So sadly, she has to either continue searching, or settle for another colour not within her theme colours.

*In the end, at about 9pm when my Goddess was having dinner with her twin, the Horny Devil called her up and said he decided to engrave "Nonrefundable-220511" as there were a few people who commented on his FB message that they like this text. So she had to make a call to Love & Co. to stop processing their previous engravement.

So what will be the words to be engraved in the end? Stay tune to find out.

A Tribute to All Parents in the World

Parents are the most selfless humans in the world. Their love and sacrifices that they make for their children is beyond any word can describe. In order to help their children succeed, they don't mind sleeping for 4 hours or even lesser each day; they don't mind depleting their bank account to get a car for their child or set up a business that their child wants to do; they don't mind taking public transport or climb up the big lorry so that their child can have the comfort of driving in the car; and the list goes on.

Since the day we are born, their lives revolve around us. Never is there a day where they can stop worrying about us and start living their own lives. They give all their lives to us, and ask for nothing in return.

When will we as children truly understand and appreciate our parents? Will there ever come a day when we will stop taking them for granted and start repaying them for all the things they have did for us?

To all the parents in the world, and my own included - I know a million thank you's will never be enough to thank you for all that you have done for us. Thank you.

Do Business within Your Own Means

I totally cannot fathom how some how some people can do business at the expense of others, especially your loved ones. If you want to start a business, you need to have your own plans and resources, and not take it for granted that you can own a family-owned property 24/7 just so that you can do your own business; or take loads of investment sums and manual labour off your loved ones, and not pay them duly, but expecting that since they are your family members, they are obliged to help you till the end.

To summarise, if you don't have your own resources and expect people to do the job for you, or using off people's possession, DON'T F-ing start.

A Night at the Museum(s)

Last Friday night, my Goddess and the Horny Devil met up for dinner. They had Jap food at Ramen Play at 313. This was the second Friday in a row that they had Jap food for dinner already. Seems like they never get sick of Jap food since their Jap trip.

After dinner, they headed down to Bras Basar for the Night Festival. This is the third year in a row that they have visited the Night Fest. Such ardent supporters right?

When they reached, it was just in time for the night performance outside the National Museum - Paraboles 2.0. The story is supposedly about 6 satellites picking up signals on the Earth. Well, my Goddess' interpretation is the story of courtship, love, sex and finally the giving birth to a child who turned crazy in the end.

Watch this video if you don't believe her. This shows the sperms on the left, having successfully entered the egg, while those on the right are like dying.

After the performances, they initially wanted to head home 'cos the Horny Devil wasn't feeling well. They saw some creative grafiti works along they way.

And then a boxing match.

And the World's slowest SMS. WTF right?

The Horny Devil did send in an sms, but don't know if it was shown in the end not, 'cos they didn't stay around to wait for it.

On their way to the MRT, they met Moey, my Goddess good friend, who told her that there were some interesting exhibitions called Abusement Park in SAM. So my Goddess and the Horney Devil decided to go in to explore and have fun.

They saw an interesting exhibition about olden days theatre and shows en route. If you realised, the movie poster is called "In Love for the Mood" and not "In the Mood for Love". That's cos the movie was a parody of the famous story, where they got two angmohs to act out the scene speaking Canto. My Goddess couldn't understand a single word they were saying.

This 'Life of Imitation' was even more funny. They had 3 characters swopping roles. Can you spot the difference?

And finally, they headed to Abusement Park.

It was quite an interesting concept I must say. The place is all about torture. If you want to visit the Dungeon, you need to buy some Abusement Dollars at the pawn booth.

There were human mean on sale.

Which in actual fact was just 'tau key' and 'hei piao'.

And there were short snippets of performances every 20 minutes. The one my Goddess got to see was the chopping off a blown-up dolls head. Hilarious.

There were also other interesting booths like 'Teachers' Pat' where you have to pay Abusement Dollars to learn how to torture others, as well as a Slave booth. You can sell 10 minutes of your time as slaves to earn some 'Abusement' money.

So inconvenient indeed!

Overall, this was quite an interesting concept. Think they can further develop this into some Halloween fun in which the 'ghosts' and 'abusers' can go around scaring people, especially along the way to the Dungeon. As what I have heard is that the never-ending 2-hours queue to the 'Dungeon' was just to see an electric chair. Duh~

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

I'm simply love this version of the classic song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Can't believe a person of this size can sing so well!

When my Goddess last heard the beginning of the song at a Okto programme's trailer, she was pestering the Horny Devil to find out what song it is and download the song for their wedding. She said that it's "Somewhere over the Rainbow" but he insisted that it isn't.

A few days later during a working day, my Goddess complained that she's very tired and sian at work. The Horny Devil then called her up, and played this song. It made her smile immediately. Nowadays, every time she messaged him at work that she's sian/sleepy, he'll call her and play this song to her.

And the funny thing was, the Horny Devil just hummed the song one day at work without realising it. It was his colleague who said he's humming "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and sent the song from her desktop to him.

Now this song is totally meaningful to them both. You'd definitely hear this song if you are ever attending their wedding!

A number of bloggers these days have been seeking for sponsors to sponsor them items/services through listing their wishes and wants on their blog. These services/items may range from wedding gowns and accessories to plastic surgery.

Is there really such a thing as free lunch in this world today? I mean I do consider it free since you pretty much don't have to do anything except blog about the sponsorship. That's quite a good deal isn't it? Blogging about these sponsorships is a part & parcel of your life, and it won't take up much of your time.

For me, I'm not seeking for sponsors for expensive things. I just need a good high-performance camera for my Goddess owner. So Nikon or Canon, if you are reading this, I hope you can do some kind donation.. I can help test your camera and publicise how good it is over at Paper Polly. Though it isn't some big establishment, we have 600+ fans and counting.. tsktsk..

Guess unless you are some celebrity blogger, small fries like me will never have our wishes fulfilled, unless the sponsor's initials is BF or ME.

So, getting past all the dreaming, I'm not photography junkie. I can appreciate the beauty of the pictures, but I ain't no creative or artistic person who can frame such good shots. The reason why I think I should get myself a high-performance cam is that I think the photos of Paper Polly are not looking professional enough that it may turn some people off. You think so?

Let me show you some egs which I think why my Goddess' current Olympus cannot make it:

Pics taken from Olympus is still not too bad. And with a photographer directing, at least the lighting is still there and the pictures clear.

And luckily for my Goddess, her photoshop skills are not too bad, so the pictures turn out clearer and better.

But when my Goddess do self-shots, really cmi. Stood at the wrong position with no lighting. And to minimise the hassle of always having to set the timer, she used her hp camera, thinking that it has the same number of pixels, and hence will generate the same quality of pictures, she was totally wrong.

The pictures turn out really pixelated. And in a lot of the shots, the colour setting was totally off and she looked green and sickly.

But oh well, she already spent 3 hours on the shoot, so she can only salvage the pictures as best as she can.

She's been thinking if she should get a better camera. Which brand is better eh? Nikon or Canon?? Any comments?

And also, we've noted that focusing on getting the product right is not enough. Though it's the most essential step to take, getting people to know about your product is more important. There are so many considerations to running a blogshop, especially in this competitive market with low barriers to entry.

Is the range of clothes ok? Are the prices too steep? Is the layout user-friendly enough. Does the website gives a pro & fashionable feel enough to be a blogshop? What are your thoughts on Paper Polly?

My Goddess really hopes that one day Paper Polly will make it big and be in the league with blogshops like Bonito Chico, Love & Bravery, Runway Diva etc. Wonder what was the special secret recipe to their success? Time (as in first-movers advantage)? Marketing? Product offerings? Wished she had taken up marketing/econs in the first place so this will come in handy.

But oh well, until she finds the right formula, she's still far from meeting her target.

Guess we just have to take things in its strides. But do come visit Paper Polly if you can and share it with your friends and family members.

herworld.com Makeover

My Goddess saw an online ad on FB by herworld.com, recruiting for people to do free makeovers. In a matter of greed and fun, as well as the opportunity to meet new people and promote Paper Polly, my Goddess readily signed up.

And who knows, she was called up to be one of the 5 models for the makeover workshop.

They met up at 1030am in the morning at Ion and had fitting sessions.

Unfortunately, the New Look at Ion had such limited selections and sizes, my Goddess couldn't find much suitable dresses that could fit her party theme and makeup. So unlike the other girls who had such beautiful dresses,

My goddess had to settle for a cream/white frilly one that's M size. Totally not her style :( Well, it's a free session, so what more can she expect?

She was one of the two selected to be the 'live-demo' models.. Wonder what's the criteria.

This was supposed to be her makeup for the day. My Goddess was expecting something dramatic and similar. In the end, it turned up really light and almost not visible. Guess the dress didn't really suit the dramatic look, sadly.

The Horny Devil was nice enough to go down and support her.

So my Goddess treated him to Happy Lemon!! The bubble tea shop that my Goddess loved in HK, 'Ugly Centre' (Argyle Centre).

And my rewards for spending my afternoon there for the makeover session is actually quite good. Besides the free makeover (which unfortunately, I have no use of cos I went back home straight), there were like many goodies!

Bali Bali

My Goddess went for a conference in Bali last week. This was the first time she travelled to the location alone.

The queue to Bali was crowded on a Wed. Can you believe it?

The food on the plane was sucky. It has been a long time since my Goddess had sucky SQ food.

And they gave King's Mango sorbet instead of Haggen Daaz.

After touch down, my Goddess stupidly agreed to let a porter carry her luggage for like a 200m distance. And the porter wanted her to tip her, but she didn't have small Ruppiah change with her. In the end she gave her a S$2 bill. Waste her money to learn a lesson.

Her hotel was at some ulu place that takes an hour to get to anywhere - Pan Pacific Resorts. But her room was huge though.

The Indian Ocean was just far ahead.

The food at the resort was sucky - breakfast and lunch included. In the end my Goddess didn't eat much and lost 1kg over the 2 days.

Luckily the first night's dinner was much better.

But the dessert was a big disappointment

The second night's dinner was at a really romantic place where there is a pool in the centre, and some sofas and cushions at the side. My Goddess sat under the stars to have her dinner.

But unfortunately, the food wasn't good once again. Not worth my Goddess' time to take pictures. The dessert was slightly better.

Doesn't this remind you of something?

Bali was quite a disappointment. Don't know why people like to go there. There wasn't much to see or do. The air is almost always thick and smoky cos everywhere you go, someone will be burning something somewhere.

And the hot chocolate and Teh Tarik was like diluted sai water. Luckily my Goddess didn't order them and taste for it herself.

Once back, she met up with the Horny Devil the day after next at 313, and had some comfort food followed by shopping in Mango's Sale. Luckily she decided to buy 2 items then cos the following week she went back, the items that she liked were gone~

Then the Horny Devil went to have his haircut at Suntec.

My Goddess also got herself a new pair of sandals/flip-flops then.

The hairdresser kindly offered to neaten the Horny Devil's brows for him.

I like the Feeling of Falling in Love

I like the feeling of falling in love.
It makes you feel so good.
I like the way butterflies flutter in your stomach.
The way your heart skips a beat when you meet the person you think you like.
I like the way you long to meet the person.
And how the day seems so long when you haven't meet.
I like the way you hope that time will stop when you are with that person.
And to guess whether that person feels the same way as you do.
Why is such a moment so short and fleeting?
Why does things have to turn stagnant?
How else can I experience this feeling again?
Except on occassions when you go on a trip or plan for the big day.
I would very much like to experience the feeling of falling in love all over again.

Tioman Dive Trip

This is yet again an overdue post.

My Goddess and the Horny Devil decided to do something out of their normal boring weekends of staying at home/taking pictures for Paper Polly by going on a dive trip at Tioman with their friends.

So they left SG on Fri May 21 evening at 8pm with their scuba diving school, U-scuba.

Reached Malaysia for a dinner/supper pitstop at 11plus. Think this was a pitstop for all divers cos u can see alot of young people in singlets eating there.

And extremely yummy & juicy satay with lots of tender fats!

And they reached their boat at around 12-1am. The boat was really small, but it had everything!

My Goddess was supposed to sleep in this little room with the Horny Devil. But it was just too cold (as you can see the aircon was just right above them), and too shaky (it was at the front part of the boat and so was shaking non-stop and violently) hence making her seasick. So she slept at the smaller bunks instead. On the first night, my Goddess couldn't get used to the shakiness of the boat and had to take seasick pills and put the 'giam giam' in her mouth for the night.

The boat really has everything. Beside the dry kitchen area, there was a 'lounge' area for them to watch DVD. Behind the wet kitchen was where they stored all the oxygen tank and dive equipment. That's the place where they launch off into the water too.

And being on the LOB (live on board) dive trip also made my Goddess feel truly like a goddess. Besides the sun deck that made them feel like some 'ah-sias' on a yatch, living a high maintenance life, every time they get back up onto the boat from a dive, they will be served drinks like orange cordial, ribena, barley drink and fruits!

And meals are really sumptuous with plenty of dishes and variety.

And there are plenty of fishes too who won't mind sharing their meal.

Tioman is also quite a scenic place.

Diving was quite a scary thing for my Goddess. She had to overcome her fear of going deep underwater after hearing a horror story from her fellow CY. She almost didn't want to go on the trip.

But in the end, she glad that she did. Because like driving license, it is a license that is good to have. So that you have one more option of going scuba diving when you are out overseas or planning for a short getaway trips.

Although I must say that my Goddess didn't get to see much things underwater. Probably because (1) she was too nervous underwater trying to remember the steps to take - breathe slowly through the mouth, maintain buoyancy underwater and equalizing the air pressure inside her body; and (2) part of her goggles were fogged up by the 2nd day, and she most of her time either clearing her goggles or peering through the fog.

Don't know how the others managed to see these interesting sea creatures.

My Goddess only managed to see nemos.

Personal Training

My Goddess went for a complimentary PT session today and I think she almost made the trainer cry cos she refuse to sign up any paid sessions with her.

Only the super rich and who have no better place to spend their money will engage a PT. It costs a freaking $90/session!

That's equivalent to my Goddess' monthly expenditure on transport!

Anyway, it's always dubious to have PTs who don't look very fit themselves trying to teach u how to be fit. Somemore, the areas that my Goddess wants to target is already told specifically to her. During the session, she still go through all other areas of exercise except for the area that my Goddess wants to target. -___-"

My Goddess haven't seen the PT in the gym before, so guessed she must be really new. She was so smiley when she saw my Goddess at the beginning of the session, and must be thinking it's so easy to get a new client since my Goddess voluntarily agreed to the session with no reluctance. But by the end of the session, she was looking sad and don't even bother to shake hands with my Goddess.

What a realistic world.

Next Stage of Wedding Planning - The Rings

ddAfter a long break, my Goddess finally progressed a little more with her wedding planning. Her fiance and her went down to The New Paper Wedding Fair to take a look as Love & Co was one of the exhibitor.

And guess what? Love & Co is having 15% discount during this fair period! And after going through one whole round around all the jewelery shops for the past few months and even today, they eventually still settled with Love & Co's half eternity. This was the same ring that my Goddess fell in love with in Sept! Just like Goodwood, they went one whole round, and in the end still settled for their first love.

Here's a pict of how her ring looks like. But the groom's ring different. The Horny Devil selected something more unique.

Happy that she can finally tick off another to-do off her checklist!

My Goddess is such a genius at photoshopping! K la, she's not like those pro designers but at least her skills not bad for an amateur already.

Look at these before and after shots that she did. Notice that the back of the top wasn't pulled on properly? In the 2nd pic, it's gone!

She also cropped out pictures of the dresses using existing pictures, i.e. she didn't retake them at all. Doesn't the shape of the dresses remind you of those that you see in fashion mags, in those match this with this sections?

Anyway, the above pic is meant for her shop's reprint of business cards. Her first batch is almost all given away, but business seems to not come from people who took these cards though..

My Goddess loves to fiddle with IT stuffs to create new works and designs.. but ask her to do handicraft work, and she totally has no patience for it. The reason why this was mentioned is that she recently came across a wedding journey blog: http://solitairewedding.blogspot.com/ This lady totally has the patience to do all the handmade stuffs for her wedding. And with all the research that she has done, OMG, she really has put in a looooooooooooooottt of effort into this.

Totally inspiring~ So from today onwards, my Goddess will put in a little bit more effort in planning for her perfect wedding, especially since it's about a year away... (*keeps fingers crossed*)

Project Happiness

My Goddess is feeling a little down and low morale of late. So she decided to start a little project, which she chose to name "Project Happiness". This is the project in which she will list down all the things - big or small, that makes her day, the little blessings in her life.

This hopefully can make her remember that there are things that make her happy after all, and will then motivate her to become a happier and more optimistic person.
