King's Dominion organised a Sidewalk Art Contest on the 6th July. The horny devil and my Goddess decided to go have fun and take part in it since they get to have a free $5 Oscar voucher anyway. What they have to do is to draw something related to KD on the sidewalk using chalk.
All ready to display their artistic talents!
Drawing...
And more drawing...
And it's done!
The next Leonardo Da Vinci!
The accomplised work
Unfortunately, none of them won any prize for the contest. However, my Goddess had an honorable mention on the 'Dominion Opinion'!
It was an enjoyable and interesting experience nevertheless. This was the first and probably the last time the both are them are going to draw on the sidewalk!
Today, or should I say yesterday was Independence Day, and my Goddess had the honour to celebrate this special day by viewing the fireworks celebrations at King's Dominion. The fireworks were magnificent - the pictures and videos are doing injustice to this beautiful night.
Later part of the fireworks played against the background music of the U.S. anthem
On the 25th June, my Goddess and her group of friends decided to visit DC for 2 days.
The DC gang
First, they headed to the Old Post Office.
Sights of and from the Old Post Office
Then they went to White House Visitor Centre.
Pictures of how the White House look like inside
The White House looks really big and grand. Too bad they didn't have a chance to tour around the inside. In order to tour in the compound, application has to be sent in at least 6 months in advance with loads and loads of documents. So this is the closest view of the White House as they can get.
This is the closest we can get!
More views of DC
And then, the US Archives - archives on everything about the US, from its Constitution to it Ammendments, Bill, history of the presidents of US, and even classified data on the Titanic, Apollo 13 and the death of John F Kennedy.
Rotunda for the Charters of Freedeom - the place where the original Constitution is kept.
Mural on the wall of Rotunda - one depicting the Declaration of Independence which has Thomas Jeffersen presenting a draft of the Declaration to John Hancock, and the second showing The Constitution of the US showing James Madison offereing the final draft of the Constituion to George Washington.
The Charters of Freedom
Ending the day was a Chinese dinner at Chinatown.
She had a craving for Chicken Rice the day before and so ordered Chicken Rice with Char Siew. The portion was super huge, but super not nice as it was really salty.
After dinner, there were more sight seeing - all because 2 days were not enough to travel around.
George Mason Statue Washington Memorial - Night View
Thomas Jefferson Memorial
Franklin Roosevelt Memorial
6 people squeezed into one small motel room
Washington Monument - Day View
The monument has 2 colours because it was built one third way, then stopped, and later completed years after.
Views from above the monument
Armed forces seals from the WWII Memorial
WWII Memorial
Korean War Memorial Lincoln War Memorial
The Awakening - An interesting sculpture that has the giant in the mud (The horny devil's favourite)
Arlington Cemetry - The place where all the soldiers who died in the war were burried
Iwo Jima War Memorial
They were very lucky to have come on the day of the 'Sunset Parade' where the Marine Corp soldiers performed and did a colours ceremony.
It was a sight to behold.
And finally, to end our DC trip 1, we visited the Union Station.
And signing this post off with my most favourite part of my trip.
Thinking of ordering some stuffs from American Eagle Outfitters (AE), so will be conducting a spree for that. Anyone interested in getting things from there can leave me a comment with your email address and I'll get back to you soonest.
Today is Vomit Blood Day. This is because we went to a shopping mall called Short Pump Town Centre, which has really a lot of big brand names like Bath and Body Works, Victoria Secrets, The Body Shop (the 1st I've encountered in US), Hollister, Abercrombie, Abercrombie and Fitch, Guess, Bebe, American Eagles and many more! It has thus caused a big hole in my pocket. Anyway, today is National Flip Flop Day (I'm not joking this time round). Hence, Tropical Smoothie Cafe gave away free smoothies to the 1st 500 customers wearing flip flops into their shops! As usual, how can Freddie and I miss out on such free deals? So we headed to the cafe early in the morning after our run...
Happy National Flip Flop Day!
All ready for the free smoothies!
Yummy!

Rushing to catch our bus with our treat of the day - Cold Stone ice cream!!
