Hong Kong Hong Kong Day 2 - Ocean Park & The Peak

2nd day in HK and more adventures to come!

Having some fun while waiting for their friends to come down
Breakfast at another 茶餐厅 opposite their hotel

And they are on their own way to the 'must visit' of HK - Ocean Park! Remember all the HK dramas, where the kids will get very excited when the adults tell them they're going to 海洋公园? That's the place my Goddess, the Horny Devil and their friends were heading to.

Fooling around on the bus to Ocean Park

And finally they have reached!

HK is really big on Halloween, the malls are decorated with Halloween props, even Ocean Park and Disneyland have a Halloween special night segment. Ocean Park has their Halloween Bash Night where there will be people dressed up as ghosts walking around to scare you. There will be ghost house for you to explore and scary rides.

Some rides that they took:

The roundabout swing reminded my Goddess of the one at King's Dominion

Views taken from the top of the ferry wheel

And how can the Ocean Park be without sea and underwater creatures?

The Liar Fish

More Halloween snapshots

And they took a water rafting water ride called Raging River that is similar to the Disneyland's Chipmunk ride.

Being seated in the front, my Goddess had the most water splashed onto her. Reminded her of the water ride in Bangkok's Dreamworld too.

Drinking some ice shavings to beat the unbearable heat

Too bad they didn't have much time to stay in Ocean Park, otherwise they can stay for the bash. It seems like a really popular event with the HK teens as there were literally hundreds of them queuing at the gate waiting to get in. Seems really fun too!

Feeling shagged out at the end of the day

Their 2 friends ended up sleeping too!

Next up, on their way to The Peak. Along the way, they passed by a building that they saw participating in the Victoria Harbour lights show.

And they saw some filming across the road too! Must be for some HK drama. Too bad it's across a big road, otherwise they'd have gone over to see if they can spot some stars.
To the peak! It was more crowded than the Victoria Harbour. Can't believe there are so many tourists in HK. They wanted to go up to watch the sunset. But before they even got on to the tram to get to the peak, the sky was already dark.

A beautiful shopping mall at The Peak

In the evening, they wanted to an eatery that sells the famous Po Luo Bun
泊罗包 but unfortunately it was all sold out for the day. They have to settle for their other menu. And their portion was really huge! My Goddess could only finish a quarter of what was on the plate.

After dinner, they headed to Mong Kok for some shopping. The Horny Devil bought himself 2 pairs of socks, and my Goddess Ferragamo Perfume for her mon at Bonjour and 2 pair of boots for herself at Argyle Centre, which they call it 'Ugly Centre'. Ugly Centre has a lot of nice things too - clothes, shoes, bags, etc. all for girls! They also headed to Ladies Market for some night shopping. Though Ladies Market has more variety than Stanley Market, it was not as exciting as Ugly Centre too. The Horny Devil managed to find a nice lizard ring though.

After a long night of shopping, they wanted to go to a famous 'Steam Milk' place. After much searching, they managed to find the place. Unfortunately it was too late and the shop was closed for the day! The second time that they didn't manage to eat another HK delicacy.

Luckily for them, they found a 24hour desert place called 石磨坊 which seems like a popular dessert place as the place was crowded, and they were several reviews placed on the shop on the place. They had steam milk, coconut mango which looked like 'chi cheong fun', peach sago and steamed almond papaya. Yummilicious!

The menu looks so cute!

Even the plate has the cute motiffs found on the menu

Hong Kong Hong Kong Day 1 - Victoria Harbour & Hollywood Avenue

It's been a year since my Goddess travelled. To take a good break and reward herself and the Horny Devil for the year of hard work that they have done, the 2 of them left for HK on 091008.

The Horny Devil's trademark run at the airport

Their flight was at 0640, so they had to reach the airport by 0440. And the both of them were working the night before, my Goddess till 8.30pm. So the both of them only had the night to pack and no time to sleep.

By the time they reached the airport and checked in, they were super hungry.

And super tired.

After 5 hours of flight, they finally reached HK!

On the transit bus

And the HK apartments, though similar to our high-rise flats, are super packed! I wonder how many people are actually housed here.

Cute flat trams

Their hotel

After checking in, the 2 of them went for a quick lunch at a 茶餐厅 just opposite their hotel.

And they are all ready to explore Hong Kong!

And the first stop - Causeway Bay, HK's shopping district, aka Orchard Road.

A very yummilicious bakery just outside the MTR

And guess what they found at Times Square? Krispy Kreme! It was such a pleasant surprise. Reminded them of their good ole' time at the States.

There was a really interesting gift shop at Times Square. They had a lot of quirk stuff including this potted plant.

The view outside Times Square

The interesting streets of HK

And my Goddess was lucky enough to witness a HK star, Gem Tang. Don't know who she is though, but just take pictures nevertheless, just like the times in LA Hollywood. At least you can go around telling people you have seen a star.

A grammatically wrong sign

Next they went to the famous Tsim Sha Tsui to get to the hot tourist spot Victoria Harbour.

But before that, some shopping first at the Espirit Factory Outlet.

And the Victoria Harbour is really a hot spot, even though it was a week day. Everyone was there way before 8pm to grab a good spot to catch the light show.

Next stop, Hollywood Avenue, just next to Victoria Harbour.

Unfortunately, in comparison to Hollywood Boulevard, this Hollywood Avenue is not as exciting. Perhaps they didn't know most of the Chinese celebrities listed down on the floor.

Famished after all the walking, they stopped at another 茶餐厅 for dinner. They had a yummilicious bowl of 鱼蛋河.

And finally to end the night off, more shopping at one of their night markets, Stanley Market. It was a little disappointing though as they had more imitation goods than anything there. Even Bangkok's night market are so much better.

And the ended at 12plus am for them. What a tiring day as they were walking the whole day.
