Arts Fest!

This is so overdue! But I'm getting lazy to post on the blog, cos it takes so damn long to post up the pics. Blogspot, you better upgrade your software and allow us to post more than 5 pictures at one go, and at a faster rate, otherwise everyone will move to livejournal or simply fb or tweeter.

Anyway, there was this Saturday, on the opening of Singapore Art Fest that the Horny Devil and my Goddess went to. It was very exciting and fun, and most importantly, free!

At the bus stop waiting for the free shuttle

Taking our 1st food break at the Marina Barage

2nd food break! They just kept eating non-stop.

There was some pre-show activities, like magicians, percussionists, caricatures, balloon sculpting...

Having some fun at the barage

My Goddess tried to do jumpingshots, but ended up looking like a stick figure.

A better attempt, but not so graceful too

As 8pm draws near, the crowd starts to pile up too.

Everyone wants a free coke

Look at the number of people!

While waiting for the show to begin, they explored the exhibition centre of the barage.

And the show began
It was a very magnificent and interactive show. The 'praying mantis' was roaming around the public seating area. It was spewing fire at the same time! It was definitely an eye-opener. This was then followed by a series of acrobatic acts and finally ending off with fireworks.

The beautiful fireworks
By the time the show ended, my Goddess and the Horny Devil was dead tired. But they still had one more goodie that they bought but have not eat. So they decided to have fun with it and here is the picture of the day...

Soyjoy!

Syle Wedding Batam Trip

Remember I mentioned that my Goddess took part and won the Style Wedding 'My Magical Proposal' contst? Well, they took their prize last Friday - a 2D1N trip for 2 to Batam.

The prize began at 8am in the morning - check-in at Harbour Front Terminal.

The Horny Devil carrying my Goddess' big bag. You can't blame her for the size as there are just some essentials that you can't leave home without - cleanser, moisturiser, toner, make-up, make-up removal, shampoo, contacts, contacts solution, etc. She already brought them in travel-pack size!

Queuing with 49 other couples

Checking out the goodie in the goodie bag - which only had Clear Men shampoo.. chay~ Thought they will give some Style Wedding magazine for our reference.

Waiting excitedly for the ferry to arrive

Going on board!

The Horny Devil getting bored while waiting for their briefing

A tour around the Holiday Inn premises - they have nice spa facilities (very ex too)

Trying to capture a shot of the flying petals - like you would see in some wedding albums

Still unsuccessful

Lunch was a Chinese restuarant called Dragon Inn Restaurant. The food there was not bad, especially the floss fried brinjal and coffee chicken. Luckily my Goddess and the Horny Devil met another couple whom they already knew and shared lunch together. It was so not so expensive at SGD12 per person.

After lunch, was check-in. The hotel staff kept refering to us as MediaCorp people, made me feel like some celebrity.

Check out our suite! It's damn huge given that only 2 people will stay in it. Feels more like a chalet. There's 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one dining area, one living room and one balcony.

The beautiful view from their room. Can you spot YP's cousin the picture?

After a short rest, the two of them headed down to Nagoya Hill for some shopping.

And they spotted BFC!

Which stands for Best Fried Chicken

Then they had some fun at the Amusement Centre and hypermart called Hypermart. How original.

Their frozen foodstuffs are up for your pick and not pre-packed. Not very hygenic though.

Even though they try to convince us their french fries are fresh. But this ain't no french fries?

Tea Break at A&W. How can they leave Batam without eating this - curly fries, waffle ice-cream and root beer float. Yumz~

Can't stomach down the bill of 51,000, even though that's only SGD7 plus.

My Goddess loves A&W! Why do they have to leave Singapore?

Finally, doing cheap cheap manicure and pedicure. Costs only SGD25 in total! With nail art some more.

See, I wasn't lying to you when I said their hypermart is called 'hypermart'

Because of the manicure, my Goddess and the Horny Devil was late for the bus, making the whole bus load of people wait for 15 minutes! Tsk tsk~ they always have the habit of coming back late and making the bus wait.

Happy with her beautiful manicure

After washing up, they had a Glamour Night dinner with the other couples. This was the only free thing besides the hotel stay. The food was not fantastic though. Not filling at all!

There were many advertisers and sponsors showcasing their photography, bridal gowns, wedding gifts services.

The huge ballroom

During the dinner, my Goddess spotted this girl having a bun-ed up hair. However, she was using something white, thick and weaved. Reminds my Goddess of those wrapper you use to wrap the pears and apples in the supermarket!

Performances before dinner

The not-so-tasty dinner

Weird tasting soup that is placed intricately in a cup

Wedding gowns showcase. The gowns all look very beautiful! The wedding album shots are quite unique too! It's by Voulans Couture.

Evening gowns showcase

Though the food was sucky, they had an enjoyable night.

The night view from the hotel room

Next morning, continental breakfast at the Terrace Cafe! I always love continental breakfast from hotels because you can get to try so many different varieties~ woohoo!

Taking a picture with YP's cousin before leaving

If you are wondering why the picture appears a little fuzzy nad if the camera is spoilt, the camera is nedded spoilt. My Goddess and the Horny Devil tried to take underwater pictures to submit for their Magical Moment contest (there's this contest held for all the couples , to submit their magical moments spent in Batam), and the supposedly waterproof Olympus camera which my Goddess bought less than a year ago, had water entering it, and the battery compartment was soaked!

Thankfully the memory card was still working and all the pictures are still retrievable. Oh well, the camera will be left for another story another time.

Anyway, it was time to make the decision, to move to another resort or stay in the same hotel for another one night. This is because there is nothing much to do at Holiday Inn. There's a water ski place not too far away, but water skiing was not exactly my Goddess or the Horny Devil's cup of tea. They were thinking more of snorkelling which is available at Nongsa beach, at the other end of Batam.

And so they have decided - to shift to Batam View resort. The resort costs $5 less, they will have more time to spend at the resort without having to pay another $26 to travel back to Holiday Inn and 40min travelling.

Checking in at the resort

The resort room, though small, but cosy

There's a balcony

To enjoy the magnificent view

Taking their welcome drink before they go for their seasports activity

Things you can do at Nongsa Beach

Getting ready to snorkel!

That's the banana boat and the speed boat which they had taken

The Horny Devil was sad because he hit my Goddess' head twice and shoulder blade once

After the sea sports activity, it was time to explore the resort.

They had a mini zoo!

Beautiful scenery along the resort

A BBQ seafood buffet dinner by the poolside

There was some face-changing and magic show performance as a group of people were having their golf getaway

Yummilicious spread of food

There was a roving performance where the band went around singing for the guests

Though the quality here is not good, they actually sound nice

After dinner, they sat at the lounge and listened to some live performance, and explored their discotheque, a really cool place, which apparently accept PAssion cards

Then it's back to the hotel room. Beautiful night view.

Another day of continental breakfast!

And some tanning before they head back to SG

It's time to call a weekend
And time to go back home. Thank you Style weddings for giving my Goddess this wonderful getaway!
