The Disapointment from Promises

What happened to "The case will settle in November. They will sell their house, find their own appartment and move away"?

What happened to these words?

Where have they all gone?

Why are they still here?

What can I look forward to?

Another promise that cannot be fulfilled? Another hope that is only false?

Do not promise something that you cannot fulfill. Do not give any false hopes. You may think that you are giving someone reassurance and optimism, you are only bringing more disappointment and misery when that promise never comes.

Do not promise if you cannot fulfill it. Do not even breathe a word if you are uncertain.

KL Trip (Beware: Picture-ful Post!)

This has been yet another long overdue post, even though I promised myself to place it up on time, as soon as the Malacca post is done.. But oh well, better very late than never.

Anyway, on the faithful day of 19 Sept, Hari Raya Haji holidays, my Goddess and her family decided to abandon me in the house along and go again for their road trips, this time round to KL.

They were more prepared this time round as compared to their Malacca trip. Clothes were packed, hotels booked.

So on they go for a 3 day short getaway.

First stop, breakfast at Johor.

Then after that it was a straight 5 hours drive down to KL. By the time they reached, it was like almost 3pm! Their hotel, Hotel Istana, was conveniently located near Bukit Bintang, where all the good food are! And it's also near the monorail station too.

Their hotel, Hotel Istana

As they was corked up on the online booking, their room was not booked and hence not ready. Heng there are still rooms, if not it'll be like their last KL trip, frantically looking for accomodation.

So while waiting for their room to be ready, they decided to head for lunch nearby.

And they passed by Wendy's! How my Goddess miss her US days...

Halfway through, it started pouring. So they decided to settle at this Restoran.

The food is quite good. There were a lot of tourists there, and their roasted duck and char siew looks yummy!

Saw a cute giant figurine along the way. Of cos, this place sells teh tarik.

And there's a BB plaza too! My Goddess' plaza! (*Bibi, which sounds like BB, is the nickname given by the Horny Devil to my Goddess)

And there was Lot 10, a distant relative of Singapore's Lot 1?

Along the way, they saw street stalls that sell very interestingly and brightly coloured drinks. Looks yummy - slurps~

By the time they managed to make their way back to the hotel, it was still pouring, and they were of course, soaked through.

But the hotel looks splendid!

There was a gym...

a spa...

and a bridal gallery.. Love the cute looking cake!

And most importantly, their room was spacious!

Look at bathroom, it has a shower room, a bathtub, two basins and a door leading to the toilet bowl. Sure feels like a king staying here!

And night, it was still drizzling, but they decided to venture out again, this time looking for dinner.

And off they ventured, and they reached Berjaya Times Square. Not sure if it's cos it's Hari Raya Haji, but the place is like a ghost town! Though it has like 9 levels, the top 3 levels were almost empty! They headed to the food court, and it was more dead than ever. There were very few food choices, and seeing Penang Laksa, thinking that this is Malaysia, they surely can't be wrong about Penang Laksa, and of course missing Penang and the food there very much, my Goddess ordered a bowl. But it surely is very wrong!

The soup is not thick, and the noodles all stuck together. There are no 'liaos' too, not that Penang laksa has much 'liaos' but this is really sucky! Her parents had Penang Kway Teow, which looks and taste better.

The indoor theme park can be seen from the food court. But as mentioned, there's no one around riding the rides! Seem quite scary for a good horror show.

See what I mean by the empty food court?

To make up for the horrible dinner, my Goddess bought ice-cream from Baskin Robbins. She always see it around at shopping malls and stopover stations but have never tried it. It looks yummy enough to tempt her to try. And the price was of course, basketly expensive! As much as a Ben & Jerry's!

And my Goddess bought her usual favourite - cookie dough and chocolate! Yumz, reminds me of Tommy's palate, which tastes much better and costs much cheaper than this!

The shopping was absolutely boring there, so they wandered the streets. And they came across this restoran that travel websites said are 'must-eats!' Too bad it was closed.

Saw an interesting farting toy along the way...

And they saw the brightly lighted KL Tower. How romantic~

And they ended up at the same Bintang Walk where they had lunch just now. And boy was it crowded with lots of restaurants and eateries! They should have taken their dinner there then!

They stopped by this Bak Kwa shop for some souvenir food shopping.

Mid-autumn festival was nearing and they were selling lanterns too.

Oh, didn't know my Goddess is so rich here. First there's BB Plaza, then there's Yan's restaurant!

They decided to take a good supper to make up for the lousy dinner, and settled down at Yan's Restorant...

for black pepper crab! Another YUMZ~

After a heavy supper, with orange juice, did I tell you the juice there is so cheap and nice? It costs only S$1 or less, they walked back. And there, from their hotel, they could see the KLCC.

Some cam-whoring in the big bathroom

The next morning...

There is this 'ship' restaurant that sells western food near their hotel. Their exterior is built like a ship, there's an enquiry counter like the ticket counter to buy ship tickets, and all the waiters and waitresses were dressed as sailors!

Breakfast at this coffee house near their hotel...

Can't believe the rest of the them chicken rice and yong tau foo for breakfast?!?

Then it was off to the monorail to visit KLCC.

So near yet so far

And then they saw this strange, spaceship like building.

And it's actually the famous Zouk!

Figuring out the way

And they've finally reached

There was an interesting roadshow with interesting backdrop inside Suria KLCC mall.

Nice architecture

Unfortunately the viewing platform was closed as it was a public holiday. So they headed for the underwater world at KLCC.And they caught the piranha show.

And there were all sorts of sea creatures...

And insects...

And reptiles...

And spiders...

Just like Sentosa's Underwater World!

Lunch was at the food street that they had supper last night. And the food was delicious!

After lunch, they went back to their hotel to rest. And then they suddenly had a spontaneous idea to go down to Genting to visit even though it was already 3pm already. And so they took a cab down.

And then the cable car

It was so cold up there that they were soon in the clouds.

And the reached!

Look at the beautiful view from the mountain top!

And a peek at the outdoor theme park.

Dinner was at the foodcourt at Genting. Supposed to be the cheapest food there, but the food there still like S$7, and it's not tasty at all!

There was supposed to be fireworks that night in celebration of Hari Raya. My Goddess' brother wanted to stay and watch since they are up there already and even though it was so late. The fireworks was supposed to start at 10pm!

Freezing cold that they huddled together

Genting is quite a beautiful site at night.

And there was so many people!

And the beautiful fireworks

By the time they went downhill, it was already midnight! There was no car and buses in sight. Luckily there was this private car who was there to earn extra, and they managed to get a ride back. Otherwise, they will have to stay at the cable car station for the night!

The next morning, they went to visit Chinatown. Saw a temple along the way..

And there were so many soft toy shops in Chinatown! My Goddess was so tempted to come back to custom make their wedding car soft toy.

Breakfast was at this dim sum coffee house. Perhaps they went in late. There was very little variety to choose from, and the food ain't fantastic at all! Penang's dim sum is 100x better.

After breakfast, they walked around Petaling Street. There was this roadside stall that seems crowded with people, and it's selling muachi.

But this muachi ain't no ordinary muachi. There's lychee, mango, green tea, black sesame and strawberry flavour!

Look at the crowd!

KL's chap chye peng is self-service style.

Since they didn't get a chance to try the chicken rice stall near their hotel, they settled for another alternative.

The chicken was good. But the rice is a tad too oily and the vege bland.

After lunch, it was time to head back to the hotel to get pack for home. They had a complimentary shoulder massage at the spa. So my Goddess and her mom went for it.

And they even served a cup of tea.

Halfway through the drive back home, they stopped for the all-so-missed A&W. However, the queue was damn long! They queued for almost an hour and the Corney Dog was not even available! Their curly fries was also not ready until half hour later. When my goddess went to collect the curly fries at the counter, then was Corney Dog available.. grrr...

And when they finally reached JB at 11pm, they went to the famous and popular hawker centre for their dinner cum supper.

This last meal was the best meal! As this will be the last cheap and good meal for them, they ordered almost everything they can fit their stomachs with. There was cereal prawn, hokkien mee, sambal stingray, sweet potato leaves, butter sotong.

All finished!

Spoiler: He went down pick the two people up even though my Goddess reached home at 1+am. Can't they just stay for a night elsewhere? And the reason why the food is all finished, is because he packed back the food for them.

Thanks for the reminder! :<
