Recently, my Goddess was given a complimentary The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. Initially she was pretty skeptical about it.
That was because a few months back she spent a bomb purchasing the Estee Lauder Idealist, which promises to illuminate the skin and minimise pores. But ended up her pores were more clogged than every due to the silicon-based formula used. The Horny Devil even commented every day then that her skin seem more 'jialat' (in a bad condition) even though she had no stress from work then. So she stopped using this after one month and her skin got slightly better, though once in a while she still experiences clogged pores which leads to breakouts.
Back to The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. My Goddess was skeptical about the effects it claims to bring. But since it was free, she decided to give it a try.
The smell was pleasing and refreshing. After putting on the skin, it feels refreshed too due to the tea tree properties.
After a few days, she found her pores really looking
smaller! And she was just using it in the day! There was also no clogged pores as a result. To make sure it's
not a self-illusion, she asked The Horny Devil for a second opinion. He also said most of her pores looked seemingly smaller. This is great news for my Goddess as she has problems of big pores brought about by her acne problems and scars when she was younger.
The Pore Miminiser doesn't come cheap in a small pack - $32.90. But if you look at the bigger picture, it costs one third the price of idealist. And for the effect it brings, it sure is worth the buy.
Seeing that this product worked pretty well on her, my Goddess decided to try another of The Body Shop's product - the much raved about Tea Tree Oil.
Initially, my Goddess didn't think much of this product for a few reasons. The first and biggest one was it's called OIL. How can oil, which is oily (duh) clear blemishes? Oil clogs pores - just like her encounter with oil-based makeup remover which clogged her pores (again). She's now using water-based makeup remover now.
Then secondly, she thought chemically produced and tested products (like benzoyl peroxide) will be a better solution for blemishes - they are chemically tested after all. She has hence tried many different brands - Oxy, Ettusais, Avene, Vichy. None of these could remove the blemish completely and they were still coming back to haunt her even now and then.
And especially now that work is more demanding, my Goddess has the habit of putting her hands over her mouth when she's in deep thoughts, the chin and mouth area was badly infected. It was pretty demoralising.
But just one day after she put on Tea Tree Oil, only one drop that night, her blemishes all disappeared - all those that showed signs of becoming full blown were gone too! Maybe it's the time of the month when her pimples have grown and subsided, but they sure subside fast!
And this Tea Tree Oil has an even more cooling effect than the Pore Minimiser, which makes my Goddess feel cheerier. But the tea tree smell is stronger though - to some it may even smell medicinal. Well that's what Tea Tree Oil is for - works like a medicine to zap off all pimples!
For just $18.90, my Goddess highly recommends this! It's a really small investment for a blemish free skin.
Here's proof of her less porely skin with less blemishes - without any makeup or touchups.
