Path to a HDB tai-tai: Storage Rack

I've never expected home reno would take away more of my time with my Goddess than the wedding preparations!

She's like out every weekend with the Horny Devil, first checking defects, then home furnishing/lighting/electronics shopping, curtain sourcing...and now that her renovation has started, being there from morning till evening to supervise the renovation works!

The first house purchase that they purchased and was delivered was their storage rack for their home shelter.

This rack is from the popular Yee Sin from Renotalk. Initially my Goddess wanted to get the really chio boltless rack from Gawa. It looked so chic with its seamless design, and best of all, it's available in cream - their house theme colour!

But after hearing about the quote - around $500-600 for a L-shaped 4-tier rack, she gave the thought up. Why pay so much for a shelf that's hidden in the bomb shelter used to store things they probably won't touch for a long time? Furthermore, Pa urged her not to get such an expensive rack as the normal rack can function just as well and is half the price.

Then after hearing from her father, she decided to get the cheapest one - a brandless flyer that was delivered to her house a couple of times. It was like $180 for a bolt and nut 4-tier rack, and comes in black/grey colour. But upon learning from Facebook forum that this shelf is only 8mm thick and the usual shelf is usually 12 mm thick (the thicker it is, the more lasting the rack will be), she decided to drop them and used Yee Sin's services instead.

She first got to know this brand through a May bride that she has met in the SGbrides forum. Subsequently, her new neighbour also recommended this place to her. Upon research, Yee Sin was highly talked about too. And furthermore, they offered the option to top up $200 to a white rack, which otherwise the original price for their standard sized rack would be $180 too. Swee la, cheap price with white - even more their theme!

Yee Sin's service was very good too. The aunty answering the phone was very patient in answering to my Goddess questions. And on the day of the delivery, the guy was very early and the free installation took like than 20 minutes!

The rack has been tested by none other than the heavy Horny Devil himself!

It's 48" by 20" on one side, 64" by 16" on the other. Cost $220 in total. Prices vary if you choose the normal black/grey/brown racks and should you customise to other sizes.

this type of metal will corrode and rust after a period of time.

From the website, the L rack without the center pole cost at least 400. From where you get 200 so cheap?

This was done 5 years ago. The price would have probably changed by now

So far I haven't had any rust issue after staying here for 5 years
