Volume Rebonding

The Horny Devil has been complaining that my Goddess' hair is very messy, thick and wild like mine. My Goddess also felt that her curls are growing unruly now that her hair is getting longer, and so she decided to go for the much raved about in Korea's volume rebonding.

Again, she went back to her Korean stylist who did her Korean curls, Mira at Salon M-i. Who better to do volume bonding with than with a true-blue Korean since it was founded there!

At the salon, still pondering if she would have made the right choice since her curls were only 3 months old
How volume rebonding is done is quite similar to normal rebonding. But instead of going straight into the straightening tongs after the cream solution was applied and washed out, big rollers were used in between. This gives the hair the so-called 'volume' in volume rebonding, and the ends slightly curled.

Looking just like Kungfu Soccer's landlady minus the ciggie
1 cut, 4 washes and 4 grueling, butt-burning hours later, my Goddess hair is now straighter and more manageable! And the end result is also very natural - not super straight like normal rebonding.

And if you are worried that the shape goes away after multiple washing and sleeping, here's how it is 2 weeks later, still very much volumed and waved at the bottom. To maintain the shape, you just have to twirl the ends while you blow dry your hair after wash. No brushes or tongs required!

Although the cost is not cheap, Mira is after all a creative director, my Goddess think that the money is really well spent! She's got many compliments from her colleagues and friends, with many of her colleagues asking her for Mira's contact.

By the way, my Goddess was wearing Lily Cole shimmer cubes eyeshadow and blusher in ginger in the picture above. The colours, in my Goddess opinion, made her look fresh and as though sporting a natural glow even though it had been a super long day then. Shall blog more about these make up colours in another blogpost soon!

Hi there, I can't rem the exact amt, think it cost about $400 for the slightly at shoulder length? Cost includes cut, rebond & treatment, done by the Creative Director :)

Hello,

I'd like to ask how long did it last?

Hi Anonymous!

My Goddess did her volume rebonding in Sep. Till now, it's still curls in at the roots. Just that my Goddess' hair is longer now, so the effect is less pretty as compared to when she had shorter hair. And I must put a disclaimer that my Goddess takes care of her hair pretty well - she blows dry every night, which might be half the reason why they still curl at the roots :)
