Wickedly Awesome Christmas

This year, my Goddess didn't spend Christmas with me in Singapore :C She went ahead to have a good time with the Horny Devil in Malacca to attend his ex-colleague wedding.

Wanting to save her remaining pittance leave days to emergency days, they set off only on Sat morning. This only gave them 1 day and 1 night to spend in Malacca since they had to come back Singapore the next day evening to catch the musical Wicked which she has bought the tickets months ago.

The usual 3-hour journey took them 6 hours altogether, thanks to the unnecessary jam at the Tuas customs and uber slow traffic due to the rain.

Their bus reached the hotel only at 3plus and they only had 3 hours to walk around before the dinner.

It poured really heavily when they left the hotel so they had to settle for some food near the hotel. The experience was really horrible. Rain was pouring in and suddenly there was a mass of abt 10-20 cockroaches that tried to seek shelter at the cafe. My Goddess only realised their presence when one crawled over her toes!! Too bad there was a slight problem with her camera battery, if not she can share with me the disgusting sight.

When the rain began to lighten to drizzle, they boarded a cab to head to the popular Jonker Street for some sight seeing. It was the first time for the Horny Devil to visit Malacca so this was a must-visit for him.

Jonker Street was a fruitful trip for they bought home some traditional pastries, and he a pair of slippers and earrings. They also had Durian Chendol at the 三叔公, where my Goddess didn't get to eat the last time she was there as the sitting area was too crowded.

Durian Man!

After dessert, they headed back to the hotel to change up for the dinner. My Goddess was inspired by this ad for her makeup.

Here's the look an hour later.

But guess the lower eyeliner isn't dark enough. I guess she was too afraid of overdoing it in case her dark eye circles get enhanced and she will look like a panda.

After the wedding dinner my Goddess and the Horny Devil joined his ex-colleagues to head down to Portuguese Settlement. The street is Malacca's most happening area during Xmas as the residents there will spend a lot of effort to decorate their houses. The public will then go to the street to countdown to Christmas and check out their prettily decorated houses, almost like our Orchard Road!

A lot of houses also decorated their houses with the nativity set

The streets of Portuguese Settlement

The people were crazy there, everyone's spraying foam at each other and cars on the road. There were so much rubbish on the floor, can't imagine the massive cleanup the next day.

Look at the masses of people!
Kena attacked
So much rubbish left to clear
After Portuguese Settlement was supper time! They went to an interesting eatery located near their hotel that served something similar to Satay fondue. There's a pot of boiling satay sauce in the middle of the table, something similar to steamboat style. You can select your own food on the sticks to cook in the satay sauce. There's fishball, kang kong, pigs ears, quail eggs, mushrooms and many more, all at RM0.20 per stick!

By the time they ended and headed back to the hotel, it was already 3+ am!! And they have a bus to catch at 12.30pm the next day!

Waking up the next morning at 9.30am, my Goddess and the Horny Devil headed down for the hotel's cafe for breakfast. As usual, a hotel's breakfast in Malaysia is never comparable to the type of food you can get outside!

Then, they took a cab down to Makota area for some last minute shopping!!

My Goddess bought herself a Kebaya top which she will be wearing for her twin's wedding. So she will keep the suspense first and reveal how the kebaya looks like in February. The Horny Devil also had a fruitful trip and got himself a Incredible Hulk T-shirt and a Malay-like top to match my Goddess for her twin's wedding too!

Too bad they had a bus to catch to get back to watch Wicked. If not, I think the two of them could have spent the whole day shopping there!

Their bus had a short stopover at the Malacca bus terminal. And so they grabbed a light lunch at Macs.

And the McValue lunch is so cheap at RM5.95, which is only SGD3 and up!
In the evening, it was Wicked time at MBS! Luckily, there was no jam and they made it in time for the show with all their Malacca barang barang, and managed to grab a light dinner in between.

My Goddess and the Horny Devil felt some parts could have been explained better. E.g. the lion which only revealed it tail for 5 seconds was from the cub which Elphaba the witch saved. Why did the Wizard decide to suddenly make the animals lose their speech and a few more answered questions. But overall the show was just fantastic! The vocals and dance choreography, props and lighting, all A++!

So that's the very packed Christmas break that my Goddess had for 2011. Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas!
