JPO - Johor Premium Outlet

Before I moved on to something more recent and exciting, let me finish covering the last event that has been in the draft folder for some time - My Goddess and the Horny Devil's JPO outing.
It was the second day of CNY then, and my Goddess was pretty bored with the long holidays since her parents were away and there was no visiting too on the Horny Devil's side of family.

So thinking that most people will be busy visiting instead of going into JB to shop, they decided to make their maiden trip to JPO.

They left their house bright and early in the morning at 7.30am. The road into JB was super clear as planned. The bus reached the checkpoint at 8am - faster than her place to Orchard!

Then they took the direct bus from the Interchange just below the checkpoint, which cost only RM4.50 each, to JPO.

An hour of sleep in the comfortable bus later, they reached JPO!

The Horny Devil even wore a new shirt on the 2nd day of CNY - the Incredible Hulk bought from Malacca.

They reached JPO at the time it first opened - at 10am sharp - and it was so empty and shiok to shop!

Before proceeding to shop, they stopped by the foodcourt for some breakfast first.

The toast wasn't exactly very yummy though. The bread thick, the kaya and milo too sweet and too much butter! And what's more, there's a fly flying around in the foodcourt - totally brought us back to reality that we are in an outlet mall in Malaysia and not the States!

The Horny Devil even sat down to read while my Goddess shopped at The Body Shop!

Two hours later, they finished walking the whole mall. Tired, they proceeded to a Thai restaurant for lunch.

The restuarant sported an interesting decor.

Food wise, it was quite tasty too, just that the asparagus was a little undercooked and hence bitter. Perhaps this is the Thai way of cooking asparagus.

Beef noodles for her -tasted like Vietnamese Pho

Tom Yum seafood soup for him - spicy!
So after lunch, they took the 2pm shuttle back. The whole trip was really efficient - according to their plan - go in the morning and come back to SG at at 4pm to beat the traffic and throngs of people coming back to SG after the New Year break.

My Goddess' verdict on JPO? Not sure if it's the time of the year that they were there - the clothes were from the Fall/Winter 2011 season, which as you know, the Fall/Winter collection are the duller designs and thicker materials - so there wasn't much to shop and buy even though the Horny Devil was prepared to spend. The discounts, like the newspaper reports mentioned, weren't that great and enticing either. It was a mere 10-20% off except for shops like Vincci, where shoes are going off for 2 for RM30. But, is Vincci even a branded brand?

The puma attire were also more worth a buy - being at 30-50% off, but you must first find your size from the limited stocks there.

No prize guessing who bought what in the end.

Ambundant selections, real savings... hmmm...

But still, this doesn't stop the crowd from going to the mall - look at the number of cars parked!

Goodbye JPO - looked totally like an US outlet mall on the outside, but the inside doesn't bring much excitement.
