One Year Part One - Picnic @ Marina Barrage

Tuesday 22 May was my Goddess and the Horny Devil's 1st year wedding anniversary. As it fell on a Tuesday, and due to some circumstances that my Goddess decided to not take leave on that day, they had a change of plans and did an early celebration the weekend before.

And so their celebration was broke down into 3 parts.

Part 1 was planned by my Goddess! The Great Cookout!

The Horny Devil kept complaining that my Goddess never fulfilled her duty as a wife and ever cooked once for him since she became Mrs Koo. And so on Sunday morning, my Goddess woke up bright and early, so unlike her usual sleep-until-the-sun-shines-on-her-butt time, and bought a whole truckload of groceries.

Ingredients for appetizer:

Main course:

And dessert!

Appetizer is something that my Goddess has done countless times and the Horny Devil loves it too - Potato Salad!

First, cut the potato in bigger cubes so they won't end up becoming mash potato salad after tossing. Then, boil the potatoes for about 15 minutes until soft.

While waiting for the potatoes to boil, my Goddess proceeded with the main course. First frying of garlic so the food will taste better.

There after she added minced beef, followed by capsicums, sausage and mushrooms and carrots from the pre-salad mix.

Tadah, the colours look good doesn't it?

Back to the salad - she cut up boiled eggs and raw onion into cubes and mixed it with a pre-mix salad consisting of cherry tomatoes, lettuce and spinach. She also added spring onions and bacon bits. And the most important DIY salad sauce - 1 tablespoon sour cream with 3 tablespoon low fat mayo and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. While tossing, there's also a pinch of salt and plenty of pepper.

And there you have it, yummy potato salad - can't go too wrong with this.

As for the dessert, my Goddess intended to do a non-bake oreo cheesecake. She found the recipe online through Pinterest, and wanted to try that out since it seems pretty simple.

But alas, she didn't see the last part of the recipe - refrigerate for 6 hours when she only had 2 hours left to do this and get ready for their date. And not sure if it's cos she didn't get the right ingredients or the right proportion, the cake turned out nothing like the picture. And it's too horrendous to be pictured and of course, eaten. Hmmm, my Goddess still sucks at cooking - especially baking. Till she tries another time and the Horny Devil be her guinea pig again. *Luckily this was too sweet for me!*

And after all was done, it was time for packing into container boxes and finally the lovely picnic basket! Do you still have an impression of this basket and the butterflies? Yep, this was the basket used during my Goddess wedding at her 'Sweet Treats' reception area!

And off my Goddess went to meet the Horny Devil at the Marina Barage. The weather was good - sunny and windy. And they even bought a kite to fly at the Barage!

It was a romantic picnic under the not-so-romantic hot sun. My Goddess even brought their favourite drink - Moscato!

Cheese and wine - what a lovely combination!

Drunk after two cups of Moscato!

My Goddess flew kite before when she was young, and thought it shouldn't be too tough. But boy was it a difficult task to get Spongebob to stay in the sky. The longest he stayed was like less than 3 minutes?! And by the time the Horny Devil got over his excitement and took out the camera, Mr Spongebob came crashing down!

Super sian that the line got stuck and she couldn't control Mr Spongebob anymore

But still gotta pose for the camera!
Well, they should have known when they bought Mr Spongebob. He was meant to be underwater and not in the sky.
