Reno is taking a toll on both my Goddess and the Horny Devil. It's taking such a long while and not done, so luckily there's something to distract them from their monotonous weekly house reno monitoring.
My Goddess and the Horny Devil were invited to a Halloween/dress-up party. Initially, my Goddess didn't know there was a theme to the party, so she wanted to be a generic ugly witch. She even bought her props at Diaso and SKP.
And how can a witch go without black nails?
To make the witch look more evil, more Goddess also bought a red lipstick from The Body Shop. It looks rather red on its own, but when applied to lips, it turned out more pink :( So in the end, it didn't have the crimson red look that my Goddess wanted to portray.
And the Horny Devil wanted to be his favourite character - something green. So they got themselves face & body paint from Spotlight.
In the end, my Goddess found out that they have to dress according to a movie character and the witch, though a generic character doesn't seem to have a place in the movies.
Okay, not exactly, cos there's Bewitched.
And there's Practical Magic.
But the thing is, these witches look so pretty and easy to dress up as. My Goddess wanted to do something more challenging and dramatic. Why look good on such dress-up days when this is the only day where you can try to look hideous and no one will laugh at you?
So my Goddess went to research on all the ugly witches.
Enchanted's witch looks dramatic enough, but there's the problem of getting her costume within 2 days.
There's also the witches from Hocus Pocus.
Again, too elaborate costumes plus not known title puts my Goddess off.
Roald Dahl's Witches look quite fun to do. But the makeup is simply too elaborate. If not, my Goddess also doesn't have the hair to do the human version.
Another easier version of the witch is from Enchanted. My Goddesss could do the trick since she already has the ugly nose from SKP.
But since the Horny Devil has already bought the green paint, why not do her favourite witch - the Wicked Witch of West from the musical Wicked and movie Wizard of Oz. But deep down Elphaba is not wicked at all, though the people of Oz all views her so, hence the nickname.
And so, the elaborate makeup begins.
One hour later, fully transformed!
Some makeup later, my Goddess has turned into a full-fledged Elphaba! To make her makeup stand out and her face more chiseled like the real Elphaba, my Goddess had to use eyeliner for her brows, super dark eyeshadows for her eyes and black eyeshadow on her nose and face to create the chiseled look.
And here's the Wicked look.
And off they go!
And the Hulk met his good Marvel friends at the place!
And Elphaba met the wicked Swan lady.
The hostess with the mostest still gave us Treats after the event!

Before, bare-faced and white |
And the painting begins |
Half-faced |
The Hulk has been released! |
And here's the Wicked look.
And this is the poster look that my Goddess was trying to create. How does the two compare?
And off they go!
And Elphaba met the wicked Swan lady.
Scary Hulk, but the image behind is even scarier! |
At the end of the night, they were really sticky and flaky! Thankfully the paint can be easily flaked off and so they were back to humans in no time. Here's Mr & Mrs Green signing off!
