Yan Can Cook, So Can You!

If you have been following my Goddess on her Instagram, you would have realised from the numerous food posts that she did, that she has been making home-cooked dishes at least once a week - breakfast, lunch or dinner.

My Goddess has never been a domesticated person. Ask her mom and you will know that she hardly cooks or do housework chores when she's staying with us. The only things that she cooks then were maggi noodles, egg and luncheon meat.

But ever since she has moved in, she has experimented with many different dishes. This is because she has realised the importance of eating in which leads to eating healthy. She also finds it fun to try out new recipes and satisfying that the Horny Devil says it's yum!

Here are the food that she has prepared to date since Day 1 of moving in.

Seems quite amazing for someone who gets C for Home Economics cooking right? Furthermore she's such a klutz in the kitchen - her food often gets burnt, or she has even had a bottle of pepper dropped into the pot as the cap was not closed properly.

Well, with Internet now, it's not difficult to get access to simple, easy-to-prepare recipes and the technology (e.g. multi-purpose rice cooker, Happy Call pan, slow-cooker, oven etc.) to help you in this. All you need is some measuring tools and to read and follow the recipe as closely as possible.

To mark her achievement into transforming in a Cooking Mama aka HDB Tai Tai, here's a flashback on the some of her achievements:

Her first meal cooked on 14 Feb 2013 - aglio olio that tasted more like Hokkien Noodles

Banana pancakes - her favourite

Wraps - very easy to make and healthy to make and you can go into many different variations - chicken & egg

Mango prawn

Chicken mango. And not in pic - Toufu wrap
And something that my Goddess is very proud of - Banana cake. My Goddess doesn't have an oven at home. The one at our place is long spoilt, and so she only tried baking cookies in her earlier teen days and they were all badly burnt and inedible.

This time round, she still doesn't have an oven at home, and she baked this all with a rice cooker!

And braised chicken wings were her favourite too cos it tasted just as nice as her mom's!

But my Goddess' favourite now is to make crepes. She's done mushroom and cheese, ham and cheese and tuna. Both hers and the Horny Devil's favourite is still the mushroom and cheese.

So as you can see, nothing's too difficult to make as long as you put your heart and soul to make. There's no non-domesticated women, there's just lazy women.
