Black or white

Look at the difference in my Goddess' skin colour! She used to be so fair...

And now she's so chao da black!

Everywhere she went, everyone said she's black, which is true. But luckily she's been in the shade since the day she's back and she's slightly fairer now.

A Day of Fun and Play in King's Dominion

How can I work in a theme park and not play in it especially when we can do so for free?

And so, in our last few days of work, we took a day off to play in King's Dominion.

Our first ride - the Skyflyer.

Usually, even employees have to pay US$25 to ride on it, but we were lucky that day.The supervisor there allowed us to ride it for free.

The ride brings the riders up to a few storeys of height and then releases them so that they go into free fall back and forth the structure like a pendulum - as if one is flying. It was sure a hell of a scary experience for me given that I hardly take any roller coaster rides in my entire life.

Getting ready...

Wearing...

And preparing...

And we're almost there!

The final lap - there's no backing out now...

Off we go!!!

And to the point of no return!!!!!!!!

Here are the pictures of all the other rides that are available in King's Dominion.

Clockwise from top left: Triple Spin, Drop Zone, Volcano, Avalanche

Clockwise from top left: Scrambler, Tomb Raider, Flight of Fear, Anaconda

Clockwise from top left: Scooby Doo and the Haunted Mansion, .. , Scooby Doo Roller Coaster, Carousel

Clockwise from top left: Sponge Bob 3D, Richochet, Shockwave

Clockwise from top left: Paramount Theatre, American Eagle, Avalanche, Italian Job

As you can see, this was the first time in my entire life that I took so many roller coaster rides before. I sat on everything except the Drop Zone (that brings you up to a super duper tall height and lets you free fall down), Hypersonic (it starts at hypersonic speed as the name says), Tomb Raider (it brings you round and round, as can be seen in the video, and I hate spinning round and round), and Berserker (this is really berserk as it is more than a viking. It brings you upside down and round and round.)

Berserker

We took pictures with Scooby Doo, Sponge Bob, Patrick and an unknown Rugrat character.

Lunch was sumptious as Freddie and I both have a $5 Oscars Cafe Coupon from our Sidewalk Art Contest participation, and Freddie was the Employee of the Month for the first month which won him another $5 voucher. This meant that we had much more food compared to our usual miserable sandwiches.

*Oscars Cafe fyi is the cafe for employees only.

Some random goofy pictures...

So many Sponge Bobs!

And back to our home - Waterworks!

Northside!

Clockwise from top: Tornado, Spiral Chute, Bhaja Bends, Shoot the Curl (Rides that I had worked on)

And not forgeting - Freestyling, one of my favourite rides

And Southside from top in clockwise direction: Pipeline Peak, Big Wave Bay, Splash House, Tidal Wave Bay

And Little Barefoot Beach

And presenting to you - my baby. He goes swimming or should I say drowning around the waterpark, waiting for us lifeguards to save him.

Naughty baby!

Washington District of Columbia 2

Okay, I know it's time I update on my Goddess' stay in US otherwise I'll never get down to it. But you can't blame me since there's 1001 things to talk about...

As mentioned in a much earlier post, two days ain't enough to see the whole of DC. They still have Smithsonian Museums, The Capitol, Supreme Court and so much more!!

First, they headed to the Holocaust Museum to finish up what they've left off.

Then they took their subway to visit the Library of Congress.

Isn't their library magnificent?

It's a pity that they reached The Capitol late so they didn't get a chance to see it yet again.

They were just in time for the Supreme Court, luckily.

Then we headed to the Smithsonian Castle, the place where it has the 'synopsis' of all the different museums in the area, called 'The Mall'.

By then, we only have time for one museum, so we headed for the one that has the latest closing time - the American Natural History Museum.

And so with this, we ended our trip to Washington DC.

Dream room.. to be...

My Goddess is on her way to building up her dream room!

First, she's got her pretty candle holder that she can burn her essential oils in.. courtesy of the Corning Glass Museum in Niagara.

Beautiful reflection when the whole room's dark
Then there's plenty of orange light. See the left hand corner of the picture?

And there's cuddly cute soft toys...

Spongebob Square Pants!! Weee!!

And how can we forget, there's TV!

So what's missing now is a bigger wardrobe to fit her ever growing number of clothes, a work table and a nice work chair.. Maybe a better stereo won't hurt? But that will come in much later...

Goddess' Home!

My Goddess is finally back after almost 3 months away from home. I miss her so much and was so excited to see her!

The feeling is so wierd. Looking at the expressways and highrise, it seems so surreal. Perhaps it's due to cultural shock, and more likely due to the reason that I refuse to face up to reality that I'm back home. With so many uncertainties and responsibilities in front of me, who would want to face up to reality? And things are compounded with the lost of my camera and Bubu's handphone.

There are so many changes to home too. We've got a new cabinet...

And a shed at the back to the garden for major cooking.

Yes, and I know I still have so much to update on.

Anyway, back to what I've (the dog) got to say. My Goddess bought me this dog choccolate from US and I love it a lot! Still licking around for the crumbs after I've finished it.
