Reminiscing the old times

My Goddess went back to her alma mater last Saturday. It has been a long time, years to be exact since she last stepped into the compound. A weird feeling overwhelmed her when she first came in. A feeling of homeliness. She was sure to be glad at home.

Outside her secondary 3 classroom

The place where she used to hang out during her 10 minutes break

And the scenic koi pond

After catching up with her long lost friends over lunch at Orchard, my Goddess came across this golden statue.

This reminded her those times where this was a common sight in New York, and especially at LA and San Fran, except that it's much better, so much more real back there. But glad that Singapore is slowly changing to a more vibrant and exciting place, where street buskers are spotted at every corner. Don't like the singing and the hula hooping act though.

Anyway, back to my life today. My Goddess came back hungry from work. So she dropped by Cold Storage to get some food to cook. Wanted to get some canned food. But she saw canned corn, canned tomatoes, canned peas and spinnach and canned soup. It was so much like the days when she was back in the States - just that they had more variety like chilli beans and flavoured rice. They also had more instant spaghetti, just as many as our instant noodles. So in the end, my Goddess got 1 of the 2 brands of instant cheese macroni and some luncheon meat. Didn't get the Spam brand though as it was more expensive.

Look how colourful the food turned out to be, it was pretty yummy too, except the cheese was a tad too salty.

Memorable Quote

Watched Kim San Shun (not sure if it's the right way to spell) today and was very intrigued and inspired by a quote mentioned on TV:

Dance like no one is watching
Love like you've never been hurt
Sing like no one is listening
Work like you don't need the money
Live like every day as if it were your last

Sometimes we just need to have less constraints in life.

Wild Child

My Goddess was a wild child in the past with a penchant for highlighting her hair in bright, drastic colours.

First it was light brown base with blond streaks and patches...

Then it was mahagony base with red and copper strips...

And it turned to dark brown base with ash grey patches...

Of course there were many more milder variations in between. But now that she's working, her hair has sadly turned to a single, boring monotone colour. The wild child in her is now fighting to come out. She is thinking to highlight her hair in a drastic manner again! Do you think that it's fine for her to look professional and yet live up to her playful character and love for a dramatic hair colour?

Fireworks

While I was waiting for the bus to go home today, the Singapore Flyer nearby had their opening ceremony with fireworks going on. Suddenly I was reminded of not too long ago where I witnessed the best fireworks in my life - 4th July Independence Celebrations at King's Dominion. How I miss that place and everyone there...

High Life

Ok, there has been a public (notice the lack of 's'), let me just share some moments of party life of my Goddess.

First, there was Jeff, who went to Suntec City Mall MY.PLAYGround, a new youth zone for the launch of the Singapore Street Festival.

I swear he looks so much cuter in person than on TV! And his skin is just so flawless!!

Then there was the CLEO's bacherlor party at Zouk. However, my Goddess was just more interested in the yummy food than the bachelors. Oops, don't tell CLEO that!

And some unexpected meeting of nightlife.sg at Balaclava. It's the 1st time my Goddess has appeared on nightlife.sg. This shows how frequent she goes to pubs and clubs.

Finally, this year's the first time she went for a Singapore Fashion Festival show - Mango Spring/Summer 2008 at Tent@Orchard! It was so exciting! What's more, there was a 20% discount off all Mango items after the show! If not for her tight budget, my Goddess would have bought almost everything there.

Now how's that for a almost celebrity-like high life?

Disappointed

I was so looking forward to the Class 95 Dog Walk later but due to some logistics problems, I can't go there anymore.
