Hong Kong Hong Kong Day 3 - Wang Da Xian & Macau

Day 3 in HK and my Goddess and friends are back at another 茶餐厅 for breakfast!

HK cafes has a peculiar practice of giving to their patrons each a cup of tea and utensils once they stepped in, even before they ordered. My Goddess and her friends thought how nice their service was, to offer drinks to their customers to quench their thirst. They have been drinking the tea for the past few days in HK, only until...

They saw the above sight at another table, and more tables around them. Only did they realise the tea was not meant for drinking but the cleansing of utensils!

My Goddess' friend even finished half of the cup! The one with full cup on the left belongs to my Goddess

After breakfast, they headed to the famous 王大仙 temple.

An alley of fortune tellers

After which, they headed to purchase tickets to get to Macau. Only then did my Goddess learned that Macau is not part of Hong Kong! You actually have to go through the customs to get from Hong Kong to Macau.

On 'bored' the ferry

Macau Ferry Terminal

Though Macau is not big, the hotels and tourists attractions - Ruins of St Paul's are not close to each other, unlike the Vegas strip. To save more taxi fare, they boarded the free shuttle service from the terminal to Sands hotel, somewhere closer to the St Paul's ruins. No prizes for guessing why the shuttle buses are all free.

And finally, the scenic St Paul's ruins. The place is really magnificent, especially that the whole church was burnt down except for the front piece of wall.

Lion Dance session at the bottom of the stairs

Fooling around (as usual)

And they had a taste of the ever famous Portuguese Egg Tart! My Goddess swear they are so delicious that when you take the egg tarts in Singapore, those in Singapore taste like sh*t.

And they tried the famous 鸡排包 too.

Though it looks super huge and delicious, it's rather nice at first bite, but is a tad too salty and pepperish though and it gets a little fattening as you eat through the rest of the bun. Maybe they can look into adding fresh and crunch lettuce. I think it'd have made it more popular.

A popular snacks place where they sell almond biscuits, 老婆饼, 老公饼, cuttlefish, pork floss crepes and bak gua. The food there is really yummy! This is why the place is so pack.

It must have been a weekend, the streets below St Paul's was so crowded with people. Really wonder if there are really so many tourists in Hong Kong and Macau.

A packed and bustling street

It was already four plus by the time they were done with St Paul's, and they have yet to take lunch yet! So they went in search for the famous Wanton Mee along the popular street. But too bad the shop there was under renovation. And they had to walk a long way in search of the other branch outlet. Luckily my Goddess didn't wear the boots she bought.

The QQ mee

And a very strange meat/fish ball that had a strong clove taste

This place was so old that their soy milk was in the traditional glass bottle which we used to have for Coca-cola years ago. They also served Fanta brand Grape and Orange soda which they call orange juice and don't know what juice which they don't term as grape, blueberry, blackberry, or for that matter any kind of berry.

On their way back to the crowded street to do some shopping at Sasa and Bonjour - their Sasa is like very cheap there, they passed a Love Alley which is really beautiful and romantic. No wonder they call it the Love Alley.

Realised each shop has a tablet in front of their door

The sky gets dark quite early, at 6 plus it was already like night time. And finally they headed down to one of the casinos. A pity that the hotels are not closed by each other, and that they do not have shows like those in Vegas. Heard there's only the musical fountain and that's all. They went to Venetian.

Nice decor, but not as impressive as the Caesar Hotel in Vegas. Maybe 'cos they haven't wondered to the other part of the hotel yet.

At about 10pm, after trying their first time at gambling, my Goddess and friends went to catch the last few ferries back to Hong Kong.

They wanted to have some dessert at the famous dessert place, The Sweet Dynasty. Fortunately the place was still opened at 12plus am when they reached. But unfortunately they were closing and so they can't have the dessert there to enjoy the atmosphere and freshly made dessert straight out from the kitchen, but to dapao back.

Green Bean Seaweed Soup

When my Goddess got back, the bed was made nicely, and even the soft toys were placed nicely on one side of the bed! Ain't the hotel staff sweet?
