Engagement Shoot - The Thoughts behind the Shoot

My Goddess spent a lot of time, in fact months researching for the Horny Devil and her wedding, including the engagement shoot, so as to make the wedding as near-perfect to her dream wedding as possible.
Around 2 years before their wedding, my Goddess decided to sign on La Belle Couture. LBC was selected for a few reasons:

1. The gowns are those simple elegant kind that my Goddess is looking for. No over-the-top drama mama please.
2. The photography style and layout is conteporary, lifestyle and casual. No "look into the air and smile" for the both of them, or the heavily photoshopped and dreamy background.
3. Their service is good - friendly but not pushy.
4.And most importantly, the package price is very worth it - just slightly over $3k with AD photography included!

There were a few concepts that the couples did for their shoot. Amongst which, my mostest favouritest is the "Eat rice, do housework concept".

I only eat rice, you only do housework
The last time when I wrote about their engagement shoot, I wasn't joking when I said my Goddess dressed up as an Ah Soh with rollers all around her head.

It all started with this modern day fairy tale article that they saw online some time back. It was so hilarious and yet a good portrayal of how life will actually turn out to be.

So one day, during their visit to JB City Square to search for props for their photoshoot, they came across a shop that sold a very cute couple tee. The girl's tee wrote "我只吃饭不洗碗" (I only eat rice and don't wash the dishes) while the guy's shirt wrote "我只洗碗不吃饭" (I only wash the dishes and don't eat rice).

At the same shop, they also sold a notebook that looked like a 武林密集 with the cover that read "蛤蟆功".

And so this trickled my Goddess off an interesting storyline:

The reality - the Horny Devil always kena bullied by my Goddess, he only do the dishes while she does all the eating only.

And then he got hold of the martial arts book and started training.

And so the training begins

And it worked!

But actually this is the reality

Luckily the designer of the wedding album is also a very humorous person and she got the story immediately and presented the story in the exact illustrations and style they wanted!

The Cheerleader meets the Runner
My Goddess was the cheerleader for the varsity, while the Horny Devil loves running. It was through cheerleading that they met and got together. Furthermore, the Horny Devil also proposed to her through cheerleading, so of course, it was necessary to capture shots of their passion, and how they got together and said "yes".

Luckily my Goddess could still fit into her uniform which was tailored made 4 years ago. And her cheer shoes were still wearable then too!

In a moment of hurry, the Horny Devil actually wore his running jersey inside out. Could you tell that?

The Frog Prince and the Pig Princess
Every heard of Freddie the Frog? Furthermore with a frog face, the Horny Devil is often referred to as the frog. My Goddess was born in the year of the pig. And so this was the union between the frog & the pig.

The Horny Devil only spent a few hours a night before the shoot to do this mask. He's indeed very creatively talented.

Dating Days - Life in NTU
Having get to know each other in school, the two of them spent most of their dating time in NTU. So school shots, especially hall shots are definitely a must!

And of course, how can we forget the traditional bridal shots in her AD wedding and evening gown?
