I like iLight!

My Goddess and the Horny Devil visited the iLight @ Marina Bay last weekend. Don't be mistaken, iLight has nothing to do with iPad, iPhone or Apple. It's simply an art display using lights.

It has been a long time since the two of them visited an art exhibition. Previously when the Horny Devil was less tied up with his work, i.e. no working every weekend/ studying for his masters, they will go for events like Night Fest, Singapore Bienale etc.

So here they are that day, with my Goddess' family. First it was dinner at Singapore Flyer.

This is a quaint food court done up to the olden days of the 70s. My Goddess didn't even know such a chic place exist until her sis asked them to meet there for dinner.

See how nicely the place is dressed up!

The food there isn't too expensive, pretty standard food court price, just that the portion is slightly smaller, and except for the drinks and dessert which cost $2 per item.

They also sold the authentic ice ball!

After dinner, it was off to iLight exploration. They reached just in time for a light show at the MBS Art Science Museum.

There was this display called 'Enlightenment' which had lights blinking. Only when you view it through the camera, then can you see the words flashing across the 'screen'. What an amazing technology!

Rows of dancing men

Artwork displayed on the blank wall through shining a torch light at reflective pieces.

A creation of a gigantic house.

The lights of this art piece is supposed to show different colours if a person goes in.

This is not part of the iLight, but it looks nice and colourful though, and so the pics.

Then they stopped for a while for some life music at the Mosaic Festival.

Walking towards the Merlion, they saw the statue very brightly coloured.

And guess what, this is another interactive artpiece in which you can determine the colours of the merlion. No wonder my Goddess was thinking why the colours are different each time, and some colouring took longer than others.

The Horny Devil wanted to have a go at the fun too. Note the kids all lining up in front of him.

Too bad the queue was too long - the kids were simply too fickle minded and they each took damn long to decide how to colour the merlion. After queuing for 15 minutes, and the queue seems non-moving, they gave up.

Then it was off to my Goddess' home - Bibi-gloo!

Btw, my Goddess is so into braids these days. As these are not just the 'in' thing to be having, it also helps tie up the baby hair on my Goddess forehead, and so her eyes are no longer irritated by the flyaway ends!

The Bibigloo, made if plastic water containers!

Seems like all outdoor art displays will always have these shipping containers.

Playing inside one of the containers, while trying to avoid the irritating cloud that would cover their faces

My Goddess like this art display very much! These are colourful acrylic tubes, done up to resemble coral reefs.

Grey sunflowers planted across the road.

Along the way, they saw some interesting red lights along the wall. They even thought it was one of the artworks.

This artwork was so random the Horny Devil said he can also do this, lol.

Then they saw a really interesting art piece - reminds my Goddess that this is 'THE DOOR' that will lead you the right path of life.

And so these are the lights that caused the red spots you see earlier.

Alien!

Really cool deck chairs

These artworks are placed in a dark room, you need to shine the torch light at them to view it. But the dots on the right? I think I also can do that leh.

My Goddess and the Horny Devil didn't get to complete the whole display - they have sadly missed out some along the way. But after 3 hours of non-stop walking from Flyer to MBS via the Merlion Park, they were damn shagged. By then, iLights was also closed for the day. And so, they headed back from MBS to the Flyer where the car was parked.

Luckily the drinks stall was still open. And they had a retro drink before heading back.

My Goddess thought on iLight? Who said Singapore is boring and you've got nothing to do? The light ups were beautiful and amazing (at least most of them). If you have nothing to do the next weekend, do drop by Marina Bay to take a look. Makes a good after-dinner activity for the family and your loved ones to do together!

Ending off, parking at the Flyer was damn ex! It costs them $12++ for a 4-hour parking! 真的是杀人放火!
