Ah Lian & Ah Seng weds

Seems like the last weekend was a popular and auspicious time to get married. There were so many wedding pictures posted up on Facebook! My Goddess and the Horny Devil were also involved in one wedding that they have helped match make 2 years back.

This was the first and probably the only time which my Goddess and the Horny Devil will be brother and sister of the bride and groom concurrently. And so my Goddess especially cherished the moment which she can ‘tekan’ the groom and the Horny Devil!

The pretty sisters all ready to tekan the groom and his brothers!
She volunteered herself for the food game and prepared a sumptuous breakfast for the groom and gang. The food game was to ensure that the groom would eat whatever food the bride prepares for him no matter how it may taste.

The appetizer was sour candy strips with apple cider. Super potent sour smell but the Horny Devil said it tasted good. Main dish was something super yucky – hot dog bun with wasabi and chilli padi and the big chilli as the ‘hot dog’. Their drink was herbal tea. And the dessert was of course a huge hit – ice-cream with sugar, honey, ketchup and dark soy sauce as the chocolate dressing.

The menu for the morning!

Next game, physical game to make sure the groom is fit enough to protect the bride! They were asked to do challenging yoga poses which the groom and brothers gamely helped. Third game was to test the groom’s intellectual ability to ensure that he can hold good conversations with the bride and keep her entertained for the rest of their lives. He was to form a love declaration with the words given to him.

The intellectual groom
They wanted to play the financial game too – to make sure he is financially stable enough to take care of her. But too bad there wasn’t enough time cos the brothers arrived later than planned. My Goddess also suggested a carrot head for the groom for this game, but didn’t manage to get a picture then. Will share more pictures the next time the bride received the official set!

Next up was photo-taking at Henderson Waves. There was only 1 group shot and 1 sisters shot with the bride, 1 brothers shot with the groom, 1 brothers shot with the bride and 1 brothers shots with the bride and groom. And yes, you didn’t hear me wrongly – the brothers have more exposures than the sisters! Which is why both my Goddess and the Horny Devil felt that the photographer, though he has a good eye for photography, the angle, capturing the expressions and all, he lacked some creativity here. He didn’t direct them much in how they can pose, but just said ok ‘informal shot’ and expect us to pose. In fact, one of the jumping shot of the brothers and the shoe shot with the bride and the brothers was suggested by my Goddess. And after looking through his portfolio on the website, I realized that the shots were repeated! No offense but I would feel that such wedding day photographers need to be creative and suggest poses that are unique. But there’s a disclaimer that one pose taken was quite different from the rest. And of course, as long as the bride and groom are happy, why should it matter?

The most creative shot of the day

Waiting to catch the bouquet. Think my Goddess was pretending how she would catch snatch it, LOL

And the not-so-creative walking shot
A repeat of this

Interesting that the brothers created their own 'waves' at the Henderson Waves

The groom is the only odd one out!

If you wonder what the brothers are doing, stay tune to see the full pics (if the bride intends to share it with me)
The evening celebrations were quite simple – just like how the bride would want it to be. My Goddess loved the bride's ROM dress as it's simple, flowly and Grecian-like. Again, will share the nice pics with you if the bride shares it with her.

As usual, my Goddess took this opportunity to practice on her makeup skills and try new colours and techniques. She recently got a white/pink/purple eyeshadow palette from Faceshop which was just perfect for her pink/grey dress that she wore that night!

The purple colour was quite intense and it came out well. So was the white – exactly what my Goddess wanted to create a wider eye look. But the pink was a little disappointing though – the colours didn’t come out very obviously even with layers after layers applied.

Oh well, so till the next wedding dinner – which is coming up quite soon in 2 weeks time, my Goddess can then try a new look – she’s already thought of using her new purple shade with her current black to mix a black smokey eye look!

And my Goddess also tried her own version of the pink ombre nails to match with her pink dresses, after having been inspired by her previous post. And this was what she got.

Probably the sponge she got was wrong - not the paint sponge but makeup sponge, or that her dark pink polish was too watery, she couldn't get the effect following the instructions given. End up she has to dab her own light pink polish onto the dark pink base like what she did for her last ombre nails, since the light pink is much thicker in texture.

*In case you are wondering why I am so rude to call my Goddess' friends Ah Lian and Ah Seng, their names really have the 'Lian' and 'Seng' words!

Have a blissful marriage, Ah Lian, aka Chewy!
