Paper Polly is launched!

My Goddess has been so busy doing up her blogshop these few days, I don't even have time to use the computer to upload my blog!

Anyway, Paper Polly is finally launched. Do go and support ok! Anyway, here are some behind-the-scenes!

Test-shot #1

As you can see, this is where the phots are taken. The living room with substantial amount of white wall and some natural light coming in. The area is actually very small and messy, with a antique table at the side, and a painting hanging on the wall

Test-shot #2

The Horny Devil keeps wanting to model for Paper Polly, and wants my Goddess to build a blogshop called Paper Tranny for him.

Test shot #3

I think I make a better model than the two of them. Look at me, I look so photogenic and natural in my poses. Don't you agree?

Throughout the whole shoot, I was hanging around watching my Goddess change and pose, and the Horny Devil complain that his hand is aching, and the photos are getting out of focus from his shaky hands. And I was just standing by, waiting for any chance that my Goddess decide to change her mind and make me her co-model.

After 3++ hours of shoot, the work is finally done!

While my Goddess was changing back, the Horny Devil decided to have some fun with the camera...

That's the whole behind-the-scenes for the shoot of Paper Polly. Do remember to go http://paperpolly.wordpress.com/ to support and spread the message around!

My (Goddess) Wedding Diary

So the two lovebirds went around searching for the perfect place to hold their wedding again.

And the more they went around, the more they realised it's not cheap at all to hold a proper, decent and slightly above average wedding here with a cosy atmosphere here.

The amount of angpows received vs the cost of hotel banquet is like wages vs cost of living. Both of the latter are rising in greater proportions than the formal.

So maybe people shouldn't complain so much that their wages aren't rising, cos they as the 'employers' are not giving enough angpows too!

Anyway, back to hotels viewing, they visited Orchard Parade Hotel, so far the cheapest of the lot. The food must surely be good too given that it's from Tung Lok. But unfortunately, the ceiling is not high, there's only one LCD screen and there are pillars blocking guests from the stage. And there's only one wedding decor and invite to choose from! Hmmm.. is my Goddess desperate enough to save money?

The Ballroom

The Reception
Next, the two love birds officially went to meet the wedding planner of Intercontinental. My Goddess is still deeply in love with this place. Look at the place, who can not love it? There are 3 LCD projectors, the march-in is super long - everyone can take a good look at you and give you their blessings, the size of the place is just right, the wedding cake is 5-tier! What's more, their wedding invites matches the theme, and they provide a nice cosy area just outside the ballroom for solemnization, with staircase and sound system. I think it's my Goddess perfect wedding place. But the downside is there are very few perks in the package, compared to other hotels.. HOW??

The Young Punk

There is a young punk who likes to visit me, and is very fascinated by me. The young punk who loves to dance, in ways that I cannot comprehend.

The Wedding Diary

There is been another long overdue post on my Goddess KL trip - the one that she left me alone at home for two nights :(.

But first, until her computer is fixed for her to download the pictures, I'm more excited about sharing with you her wedding preparations thus far.

The past few weekends have been really packed for my Goddess. She has been going around to check out the hotels for her wedding.

Those that she has seen so far includes:(

Marina Mandarin

The ballroom that can house the number of people that my Goddess is inviting is rather small due to the low ceiling. The march-in is hence very short, and hence gives her a clautophobic feel.

The hotel interior is warm and cosy, and the wedding coordinator Fiona, is very helpful and friendly too.

York Hotel

Ok, next.

The Regent

My Goddess loved the number of themes for decor that one can mixed and match with. She especially loves the garden "Seasons in the Park" theme where there is even a real carpet grass.

The Horny Devil liked the fact that one can even decorate the reception area with candles.

Another plus point is that is the only ballroom in the hotel. No mixed up of guests at all. And one of the wedding wishes is actually a 2-piece jazz band..cool!

However, the coordinator not very 'zi dong' - never offered them any drinks though.

Grand Corpthone Waterfront

My Goddess is completely awed by the garden behind the Grand Ballroom! The high ceiling made the ballroom really grand, and the march-in is long. The service by Sheena is very sincere and good too! Too bad it needs at least 40 tables for a weekend. How is my Goddess going to find that many guests?

Hotel Intercontinental

Another of my Goddess' favourites - loved the inside, the outside and the ballroom. The room is really huge and has high ceiling and nice chandeliers. The evening when my Goddess and the Horny Devil was there, there was a wedding preparation. The whole room was very classicly decorated in blue and white, just like the colours of Tiffany. The march-in was also long, and the reception area huge! What's more, the minimum tables required is much more reasonable. Just that it is on the slightly pricer end.

This is defintely on the top of my Goddess' list! Woohoot~

Anyway, just yesterday, my Goddess and the Horny Devil spent another bomb. They signed up for a videography package with Moomedia. The package includes a concept MV and the actual day videography. In case you don't know, Moomedia is the agency that did the really touching 'Dunman High' wedding video.

The idea of your own story in MV is just too romantic! And much better than an animation or your own slide show. My Goddess and the Horny Devil though that this can definitely be put into good use in future. When they are angry with each other and quarelled, they can look at the video and reflect on the beautiful memories of how they got together and hence be not angry with each other anymore.

My Goddess is looking forward to producing the concept MV, but is now feeling the pinch of the money spent!

Malacca Trip

This is a long overdue post. But I figured that if I don't write something today, there will be another trip to update in a few days time, cos my Goddess is going to KL this long weekend, leaving me alone in the house! Boohoo! I don't know what's going to happen to me.

Anyway, my Goddess and her family had an impromptu drive up to Malacca on 10 Sep. They weren't expecting to drive so far up, so they didn't bring much cash, only 500RM for 4 people and no spare change of clothes at all.

That day was hazy cos of the Indo fire. Can't really see far.

4 hours drive later, they finally reached Malacca!

My papa is always fascinated with antiques

Their next time - Peranakan Museum!
This is the location where another part of Little Nyonya was filmed - Yue Niang's house.

Can you recognise the living room?

My Goddess didn't enjoy this museum as much as the Penang one even though she can recognise more scenes of the show filmed here because one, the tour guide wasn't very friendly - and she chop chop finish the whole tour in less than an hour; two, photography wasn't allowed so my Goddess can't share the scenes and memories with me; three, the museum is packed with so much things, you can't feel that it is a house at all!

The exterior of Yue Niang's house
After the tour, they went opposite to get some 'tu chan'. There are a lot of yummy food to buy! Too bad they had to ration their 500RM and couldn't buy much.

And there was a cosy little cafe that sells milk tea in a big glass bottle, making the drink look even more delicious than ever!

My Goddess wanted to buy one to drink. She would have done so if she was with the Horny Devil but they were on a tight schedule and budget.

They also looked like they sell yummy chendols - reminded my Goddess of Penang
There was a stall selling nice selling pancakes with a long queue. So they decided to buy two to try.
The pancake is in the shape of a fish. But it doesn't taste as nice as it smells and looks
And seeing that the street side stall also sells chendol, they decided to buy one to try too - another reminder of Penang!

Walking down the street, the sun was sweltering hot!
Look at how they translate Nasi Lemak! Alamak~

I didn't know my Goddess and the Horny Devil has a shop in Malacca

There's a toy museum in Malacca too! My Goddess is so going to bring the Horny Devil there the next time they visit Malacca

And she saw an interesting statue somewhere off Jonker Street.

That's cos the gym is opened by this body building champion
Malacca is apparently popular for its handmade pineapple tarts. There were many stalls selling that. Probably cos of the Nyonya influence.

The biggest pineapple tart ever

When evening falls, Jonker Street is transformed into a Pasar Malam.

Look at the colour candies - nice to see but not nice to eat
Stopping over for some yong tau fu food

Dinner was at a Peranakan restuarant as my Goddess was craving for Peranakan food since her Penang trip. They stopped at the first restuarant that they saw opened.

The big kitchen with lots of fumes from all the cooking

Apparently the restuarant is a famous one. Even President Nathan visited the place. Lucky them!

Their scrumptious dinner
By night time, the street was really crowded.

They decided they will head straight home and not stay over in the hotel there because they didn't bring enough money and had no change of clothes. By the time night falls, they were even smellier than my mouth because of the hot sun in the day.
So before they headed home, they decided to spend their remaning cash on the famous pineapple tarts.

And it's indeed nice and worth the buy!
So this very much sums up the end of their impromptu Malacca trip. Next stop - KL. This time round, they have wisened up and made more plans like book the hotel and bringing more cash. My Goddess is also going to bring her card along in case she sees something that she wants to buy!

Wedding Preparations

Now that my Goddess' housing loan ordeal is finally over, the Horny Devil and her can move on to the next step of their wedding planning - looking for a wedding venue!

Their first stop - Goodwood Park.

My Goddess liked the hotel for their rustic, country-liked exterior.

The grand ballroom

A close up look at the chandelier lights
What my Goddess liked about the ballroom is that it's a cosy size that can hold the number of tables they are looking at without looking too cramp or empty. And that it is in a hexagonal shape, so the area is made more inclusive.

There are also 4 projector screens altogether so that all video images will not be blocked and small for guests to view

The aisle leading up to the (imaginery) stage that will have the brown wall as the backdrop

My Goddess like the big and cosy reception area too

The reception area can even extend to the other side of the staircase, which can also be decorated!

However, there are several things she didn't like about Goodwood Park:

  1. The bridal suite is apparently small, according to forumers, and has no good view.
  2. There are no rooms for negotiation, e.g. more complimentary carpark lots, no complimentary solemnisation venue - my Goddess really liked the poolside as the solemnisastion venue!

So if all the GST, service charge and miscellenous extra charges, it may not be worth it with no extra negotiations.

Meanwhile, the two lovebirds also dropped by Ion to check out their Jewellery Street for wedding bands.

My Goddess loved this the most! Not because it is the most expensive of the lot, but don't you think it just looks fabulous? And the service there was good too!

A close-up shot

And this is just the beginning of their wedding preparations. There will be more to come as they visit more hotels and wedding shows and preparing for all the nitty gritty staffs like wedding favours, wedding invites etc. And also the most important part of choosing the gown and wedding shoot! OMG, there's so much things to do. And most most importantly, they haven't settled the ever so important date. Now where should they start with so much things to do...

No Place to Call My Own

I think age is catching up on me. I am so not active now. I have problems standing on my two hind legs. This morning, I thought I could not walk anymore and was left barking in my mom's room alone. And because of this, my Goddess feels very sad for me even though she has enough problems of her own.

And adding to both our problems, the rubbish in my home which my Dad has picked up, is sent back to my home again. We thought we can have some peace and quiet for at least a week.

Our whole house is stinking now. Can I even call it 'our house'? It seems to be a communal rubbish dump now. When will the rubbish be cleared? Or will it ever be?
