Her World Beauty Awards - Vichy, ZA and Kate reviews

As you might already have known, my Goddess is a total beauty junkie who puts on like at least 8 lotions/creams on her face before she goes to sleep - and hence her 10 minutes ritual every night and morning; and she tries to do up different styles of makeup if the occasion calls for it.

And so today was the annual Her World Beauty Awards. Guess my Goddess is kinda on the right track. She's got 3 of the items that the Editors of Her World voted for!

 CATEGORY:
Oil Control Moisturiser
READERS' CHOICE:
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-free Gel Cream
EDITORS' CHOICE:
Vichy Normaderm Tri-activ Anti imperfection Hydrating Care Day Moisturiser

My Goddess has been using this for a few years already. Not sure if it's cos she's past the puberty age, but her face was visibly less oily - which means less clogged pores!

Next, some thing that she has recommended before.

CATEGORY:
Curling/Volumising/Lengthening Mascara
READERS' CHOICE:
Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto
EDITORS' CHOICE:
ZA Impact Lash Mascara Volume

No further introduction/reviews required. Read her rave here.

And finally, something she just bought recently:
CATEGORY:
Eyeliner
READERS' CHOICE:
Maybelline Eyestudio Hypersharp Liner
EDITORS' CHOICE:
Kate Gel Pencil

The reason why my Goddess bought Kate was cos it's a Japanese brand - and it's made in Japan! There are two kinds of Japanese makeup - the super natural one that makes you look like a natural beauty or the Harujuku girls kind. And Kate belongs to the former! In fact, it was one of the girls she met in gym who is an even more beauty junkie than her who reminded her this. Previously when my Goddess was in Japan, she bought a mascara from Kate. However, she felt the mascara was so natural that it didn't felt like she put on anything nor open up her eyes to make it look bigger, hence she stopped patronising them. So until recently she met the gym/beauty junkie did she decide to give Kate another try again.

This gel pencil is really good cos it is very easy to control since it's a thin pencil - no worries of drawing out of line unless you are really distracted, and drawing of lines of varying thickness! And secondly, it is gel base i.e. no worries of smudging even with oily lids! In fact when my Goddess tried the sample on her hand - she couldn't even rub it away until she tried on another primer (which is lotion-like). This means no smudging in the gym! And so the effect was very natural - perfect for work and days when she is lazy and wants to put minimal makeup but still have her eyes enhanced. And the BESTEST thing of all, it is super pocket friendly! Cost only $17!!

My Goddess feels this is better than the gel eyeliner that comes in a pot as the one she tried from Maybelline actually dried up after a few months of use. And worse still, the hair of the brush got split (like a super messy bedhead hair) and it 1) poked into my Goddess' eyes many times and it was like damn painful and 2) the eyeline she drew got really messy and thick as a result.

My Goddess is so going to try more of Kate's products from now on!

And finally, something that she has heard so much raves about and my Goddess has been wanting to get her hands on it for so long and is so going to get one for herself once her current toner runs out!
