Journey of Bibma: Five Apps for First-time Moms

Here's sharing 4 free and 1 paid apps that I'm using right now which has helped me cope with taking care of Julias one way or another:

Baby Daybook

You can keep track of how long/ how much was fed; the date of last poo; when was the last solid etc. Very essential for keeping track of the daily activities to reply to PDs and for analysing when growth spurt is here.

Downside: this can't be plotted into graphs if you want to see trends.

My Baby

Done by UK's Baby Centre who also did the My Pregnancy app, this baby app tells you what to look out for in your baby's growth daily, reminds you to do certain activities with your baby, eg. Tummy time etc.

The Wonder Weeks

The only paid app of the lot but it's worth that dollar. When Julius gets cranky, I'll check against the app to see if he's going through a wonder week - days that his brain is learning new skills. I'll feel better afterwards knowing that it's not something that I didn't do right. It's a learning curve to know what he's experiencing and how to deal with it.

It also helps me understand what is going through his development.

Munchkin Monitor

Good for parents who are sleeping in a different room from the baby. The monitor picks up noises and alerts the parent monitor if the sounds hit a certain threshold. And it operates via wifi so no data plan or smses are incurred.

You can also take photo live and talk to your baby through the parent monitor mike.

White Noise Baby

Nowadays Julius can't sleep on his own after feeds. The white noises help to put him to bed as it mimics the noise in the mummy's tummy before they are out.

There are a lot of noises to choose from and you can set timer when to switch it off. There's also a baby monitor function which will turn on the noise again once it detects noise from the baby, ie the baby has woken up

Are there any other app apps that should be added to the list? Share with me!
